About This Pub
Ah, Speakeasy – it's one of those places that just warms your heart when you step inside, isn't it? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's spot on for a good night out, especially if you're organising something like a birthday bash or a club get-together. The owners and team are absolute stars, always ready to lend a hand and make sure everything runs smoothly, which really makes the place feel welcoming and personal. And let's not forget the drinks – their own brewed ales are superb, with folks raving about the selection and the cosy surroundings that make it feel like your local haunt. It's got that authentic bar charm that you don't find everywhere these days. But, on the flip side, it's not without its drawbacks. The opening hours are a bit hit-and-miss, only popping open a few days a week, so you might end up disappointed if you're hoping for a quick drink on a quiet evening. Plus, with no fresh reviews in the last while, it seems things have gone a bit quiet, and the website's playing up, which doesn't help when you're trying to plan ahead. Overall, if you're in Chorley and fancy a proper pub experience with great vibes and tip-top service, give Speakeasy a go – just make sure to check it's open first, and you'll likely have a cracking time!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff and owners are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, which really adds to the vibe.
-
It's a brilliant spot for hosting parties or events, like birthdays or club gatherings, with a great setup and festive decorations that make everything feel special.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of ales, including their own brews, which are top-notch and perfect for ale enthusiasts.
-
The atmosphere is cosy and just what you'd want from a local bar – it's got that warm, community feel that makes you want to come back.
Cons
-
It's only open a few days a week, which can be a bit of a nuisance if you're planning a spontaneous visit.
-
There haven't been any recent reviews, so it might not be as buzzing as it once was, and you'd want to double-check if it's actually open.
-
The website seems to have some issues, making it tricky to get more details online before heading out.
-
With limited operating hours and no updates lately, it could feel a tad unreliable for regular meet-ups.

We booked the venue for a Christmas party for our local running club, and had a great experience from the start!
We were able to pop by and look at the space before starting planning, the owner was happy to set up Bucks Fizz for our arrival, and the room was decorated nicely for a festive night.
Communication was great, the staff behind the bar were awesome on the night, and we had a fantastic event!
I'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an event space 🥂

Had the pleasure of visiting on a Friday afternoon. Just what you expect from a Tap Bar / Micro Brewery, great selection of ales, great surroundings and friendly bar staff. Visit and you won't be disappointed.
First time we've been here, certainly will be going back, their own brewed (Withnell brewery) ales are superb +++
