About This Pub

Ah, Soul Suite – it's one of those places in Blackpool that just pulls you in with its infectious energy and top-notch Soul and Motown playlists; I can picture myself there, tapping my feet to the classics while chatting with mates over a drink. The DJs are spot on, spinning tunes from the 60s to 90s that get everyone, young and old, up on that dance floor, and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome, which is always a treat. It's brilliant for a daytime session or a Sunday night wind-down, where things feel relaxed and friendly, but honestly, it does have its downsides – evenings can turn a bit chaotic with the crowds, and I've heard a few grumbles about warm drinks, which is a real shame when you're craving a cold one after all that dancing. Still, if you're up for a proper knees-up with great music and a mix of people, it's worth a visit, just maybe pop in earlier in the day to avoid any potential hassle and make the most of that fabulous atmosphere.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The music is absolutely brilliant, with a fantastic lineup of Soul and Tamla Motown tunes that really get everyone up and dancing – it's like stepping back into the golden era!
  • The staff are so friendly and welcoming; they make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in, with a special nod to those helpful doormen.
  • There's a cracking atmosphere, especially during the day or on quieter nights, where you can enjoy a lively crowd of all ages having a proper good time on the dance floor.
  • The layout is spot on, with a spacious dance area that's perfect for letting loose and enjoying the vibes without feeling cramped.
  • They've got a packed schedule of events and DJs, like Mikey Mike or JJ Gibson, which keeps things fresh and exciting for regular visitors.
Cons
  • Drinks can be a bit of a letdown, with some folks complaining about warm bottles, especially the lager, which takes the edge off an otherwise fun night.
  • It gets pretty packed in the evenings, and that can lead to an unsettled vibe with rowdy groups, making it feel a tad tense at times.
  • The dress code after 7pm might put some off if you're not up for smart casual, and it could mean you have to plan ahead or head out early if you're not dressed for it.

My partner remembered going here many years ago so we popped in during a short stay in Blackpool. Door staff were friendly and welcoming and a big shout out to the very nice doorman who offered me a helping hand with the high step..lol. Nice lay out inside and good sized dance area. Great for people watching...lots of entertaining dancers who have a passion for soul. Reasonable prices and great all round atmosphere.

Great music and day time fun. We went back in the evening but it was too busy and there was an air of unsettled atmosphere between different drunk men. It felt like a fight might break out and there was several very drunk women being looked after by street angels outside. We left my boyfriend said it was unsettling him and he didn't want me in the middle of it

Been going in here for quite a few years don’t know what’s gone wrong but the bottles are always warm been like this now for nearly 12 months I know places get busy but was in for last few weeks when quiet still warm. It’s a shame because good DJ and music but nothing worse than warm lager !!

Great dj playing 60s - 90's music. We arrived late to a busy dance floor and friendly clientele soon had us all up dancing! Quieter, as you would expect on the Sunday night, but the DJ was playing and people were still dancing. I might just have to move to Blackpool!
