About This Pub
You know, Smugglers Cove really stands out as that reliable spot on High Street where you can pop in for a decent pint without breaking the bank. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the drinks are spot on – think good prices on classics like Stella and San Miguel – and the staff are absolute gems, always smiling and making sure everything runs smoothly. It's got this great vibe, especially when the sports are on or there's live music kicking off on the weekends, and the place is nice and clean with a cracking outdoor garden for those warmer evenings. But, to be fair, it's not all perfect; there've been a few grumbles about them being a tad inflexible with the TV channels, like turning down a request to switch for a game, which might frustrate you if you're set on watching something specific. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for a casual get-together with mates, offering that balance of fun and affordability, as long as you go in with realistic expectations.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
Fantastic value for money on drinks, with pints like Stella and San Miguel at really reasonable prices.
-
Friendly and welcoming staff who always seem up for a chat and make the place feel inviting.
-
Lively atmosphere that's perfect for watching sports on their good screens or enjoying live music on Fridays and Saturdays.
-
Clean and spacious inside, with a lovely sunny outdoor garden that's great for a relaxed pint when the weather's nice.
-
Generally a welcoming spot for a quiet evening or a bit of excitement during big games, based on what folks are saying.
Cons
-
Sometimes a bit rigid with the TVs, like not switching channels for a specific match even if there are plenty of screens, which could leave you disappointed.
-
The online presence is quite basic, so you might not get much detail before heading over, making it a bit of a surprise.
-
A couple of reviews hint at it not always being the quietest spot, especially during events, so it might not suit everyone looking for a peaceful pint.

To BIG STONES
Did the Leeds fan rob 2 television’s as there is only 8 in the pub. This is a very nice pub with nice people, maybe the manager didn’t want to upset the atmosphere with a televised version of the Whitaker’s ( where is ray) Bradford are the biggest side in Yorkshire. ( where is our Johnny Dubi)
Went in yesterday at 12.30 asked if they could put Leeds game on one of their 10 tvs they just said no because arsenal game is on I said yes but there is 10 tvs surely you can put it on one of the tvs for me ? They just said no again . BAFFLED . I could understand if the pub was full and everyone watching tv but it was half full at best, there was plenty of TVs no one was sat by .
What a way to lose a bit of custom . Obviously man united fans or something can’t see any other reason why they wouldn’t put Leeds game on .
EDIT - Just read other reviews they have done this to a few people wow wonder what the reason is to not put a game on one of the many TVs ? There was no reason by the moody manager . Personality of a dead man he had . What’s the point in having that many tv’s even only want one game on ? There’s about 3 next to each other just above bar . Even if just put it on one of them id be happy .
Im guessing they have illegal channels so dont want to change the channels while people are about ? But even if so you’d think with that many TVs they’d have every English game on anyway
Lovely little local Irish pub. They have live music on a friday and Saturday night. The play sports on tvs usually football. There is a good atmosphere when it is a big game on. Staff are always friendly and smiling. There is always a good atmosphere when there is live music. Lots of dancing and singing. Whoever is performing always plays some tunes everyone knows.
Absolutely fantastic bar, staff really friendly. Décor is tasteful, got a terrific atmosphere. Prices are the most reasonable, got same round at half the price of a establishment a few doors up street . Highly recommend
Beautiful clean and spacious Pub. Great prices and lovely sunny outdoor garden space in the back
