About This Pub
Ah, the Singing Chocker – what a lovely spot it is for a casual get-together over a pint and some hearty grub. From what I've gathered from folks who've been, the staff really stand out; they're so friendly and helpful, always popping over to check if everything's alright, just like you'd expect from a proper local haunt. The food's a real winner too – think delicious pub classics that are well-priced and satisfying, perfect for sharing with friends after a day out. And if you're into sports, it's brilliant; the atmosphere buzzes with all the live action on the TVs, making it feel like you're part of the game. Plus, it's dead easy to get to with loads of parking, and the place is always spotlessly clean, which is a nice touch. On the flip side, though, it's not all perfect – I've heard a few tales of meals not quite living up to the description, like a grilled dish that didn't quite hit the mark, and it does get packed, which might mean a bit of a wait or feeling a tad rushed. All in all, it's a solid choice for us pub goers looking for a good time, but maybe plan ahead for those busier evenings to avoid any frustrations.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure you're looked after – it's like chatting with mates behind the bar.
-
The food is spot on, with a great selection of flame-grilled pub grub that's reasonably priced and hits the spot after a long day.
-
It's got a brilliant atmosphere, especially for watching live sports like football or rugby; the place really comes alive during big matches.
-
Convenient location near the M62 with plenty of parking, making it an easy stop for a quick pint or meal without the hassle.
-
The venue is always clean and well-maintained, which makes for a comfortable and welcoming space to relax in.
Cons
-
Occasionally, the food might not turn out as expected, like if something's meant to be grilled but isn't quite right, which can put a dampener on things.
-
It can get pretty busy at peak times, leading to waits for service or tables, so you might not always get that relaxed vibe you're after.

Lovely place and lovely staff! Food is top notch too despite it being quite busy during my visit. Despite the busy time, Cheryl kept checking on us and made sure everything was spot on. Would recommend grabbing a meal here.
I ordered a grilled chicken, but it didn’t resemble what I expected. The dish was not grilled at all. The waitress was fair and offered to take it back to redo it, and she even offered a dessert as compensation. Unfortunately, after that experience, I just wasn’t in the right mood to enjoy my meal. Overall, a decent effort, but I left feeling disappointed
Decent food, reasonably priced. Good selection of beers and the cocktails are really good.
The ambiance and design is very cool, especially when there is football or formula one on the TV’s. Every time I have come in it has looked clean and as if the staff take care looking after everything in the bar/restaurant.
The staff are always lovely, nothing is a hassle and they are always polite. Never feel rushed and generally feel taken care of.
Overall a good place to come and grab a bite to eat and a great place to sit and have a drink with your mates to some live sports!
Lovely food. Friendly and polite staff very helpful
Rachel served us today she’s a very happy and very helpful.
First time visiting the Singing Chocker. Abundance of parking. Just make sure you enter your reg number into the parking machine located inside the pub, or you may incur a fine. Friendly, helpful service. Great choice of meals on the menu. We ordered the nachos, chicken, onion rings, share plater, which was plentifull, great value for money, and tasty. Child, disabled and dog friendly. I have only given 3 stars for the atmosphere as it was 2pm on a Monday when we visited, so expectantly quiet.
