About This Pub
Ah, Sesay's Bar and Kitchen – it's one of those places in Crosby that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, the atmosphere is spot on; imagine popping in on a Saturday and getting swept up in a sing-along with the regulars – it's all about that warm, community feel that makes you want to linger. The food generally gets a thumbs up too; folks rave about the fresh burgers, generous portions of chips, and a cold beer that pairs just right, plus the bar's well-stocked for all your drink needs. And let's not forget the staff – they're dead helpful and go the extra mile to make you feel at home. But, to be fair, it's not all roses; there are times when service slows right down, like waiting over half an hour for breakfast when the place isn't even packed, or dealing with lukewarm coffee that needs a top-up. A couple of reviewers mentioned menu items going missing, which is a bit of a shame. Still, with an overall rating pushing 4.6, it's clear the good bits outweigh the bad for most. If you're heading to Liverpool and fancy a relaxed spot for a meal and a chat, I'd say give it a go – just keep your expectations in check for the service side of things.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely buzzing, especially with those impromptu sing-alongs that really get everyone in the mood for a good time.
-
Staff are so friendly and attentive, always making sure you're looked after and adding to the welcoming vibe.
-
The food hits the spot – fresh burgers, tasty jacket potatoes, and a well-stocked bar with perfectly cold beers make for a satisfying meal.
-
It's a clean and tidy spot with comfy seating, ideal for a relaxed catch-up over drinks or a bite.
Cons
-
Service can drag on a bit, like when food takes ages to arrive even if it's not too busy, which puts a damper on things.
-
Some drinks might not come out quite right, such as coffee that's barely warm and needs fixing up.
-
A few menu items can be unavailable, which is a letdown when you're set on something specific.
-
Breakfast experiences have been mixed, with some finding it underwhelming compared to the rest of the offerings.

Went for breakfast . Very disappointing.
The coffee when it finally arrived was barely warm. Had to ask for some hot water to warm it up .The food took over 30 minutes to arrive. There were only 2 other customers so they weren’t busy. An item on the menu I asked for was not available.
Asked for a a glass of water which never arrived. Shame because we have been there before and everything was fine. But will not be returning or recommending.
We came in on Saturday afternoon/ early evening & really enjoyed the atmosphere in the bar
There was a table of obviously local patrons who were the life of the evening having a good old fashioned sing along to the music & we really appreciated the way the staff catered to everyone’s needs putting on popular songs to sing along to.
We will definitely return to this bar to enjoy the experience of normal people having a little bit of fun
Called in on Saturday not sure what to expect or what we could order, we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered burger and beer. The burger was freshly prepared, the salad was fresh and plenty of chips, also hot. The beer was cold, service was friendly, would definitely recommend, a pity I didn't take a photo.
Took an hour out from the beach and found sesays bar and it was very nice .
Good food menu and a very well stocked bar , my lager - poretti was spot on .
Our food was basic but nice jacket potatoe and a steak baguette - there were more expensive options and I'm sure they were delicious
Visited here for Breakfast on Sunday morning, found the decor and atmosphere really nice (especially the Leather Seats).
The place it clean and tidy and they had plenty of tables free which was great.
On the whole the food was quite good and seemed to be made from decent ingredients, but there are a few of areas they could improve on:
- Scrambled Egg was hard and over-cooked, the Hash browns were also over-cooked/greasy and the Eggs in my Wife's Egg Florentine were a bit undercooked. The rest of the food was good (sausage, Bacon, toast, etc.)
Service was efficient and friendly (although the Waitress did forget my Beans, my Cutlery and my Wife's Water, but this isn't the end of the World).
The overall price was pretty reasonable
