About This Pub
Ah, Seacourt Bridge – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Botley, Oxford. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the place really shines with its warm, friendly staff who go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome, and the food is generally a winner, with solid pub favourites and some cracking deals that make it easy on the wallet. Whether you're tucking into a big plate of fish and chips or enjoying a cold pint in their lovely beer garden, it's got that traditional feel with a bit of something for everyone, including families and dog owners. On the flip side, though, it's not perfect – there have been a few grumbles about service not always hitting the mark, like when add-ons to dishes don't quite deliver, or if things get a bit slow when it's packed. Still, with an overall rating hovering around 4.1, it's clear most people leave with a smile, so I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're after a laid-back spot to unwind, just keep in mind it might not be flawless every time. All in all, it's a solid choice for a casual outing, and I'd recommend giving it a go for the good times it offers.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of drinks, from real ales and craft beers to wines and cocktails, perfect for any taste.
-
The food is spot on – think hearty pub classics like fish and chips or burgers that hit the spot, especially with those great daily deals and offers.
-
It's super family-friendly and dog-friendly too, so you can bring the whole gang, including your furry friends, without any fuss.
-
There's a lovely secluded beer garden that's ideal for soaking up the sun on warmer days, away from the hustle of Oxford city life.
Cons
-
Service can sometimes feel a bit inconsistent, like when ordering extras for dishes – it might not always live up to expectations.
-
A few folks have mentioned minor letdowns with certain menu items, such as the nachos not being worth the add-ons, which could leave you a tad disappointed.
-
It gets busy quite often, so you might have to wait a bit for your food or a table, especially during peak times.

Great pub with a warm atmosphere and friendly staff. Excellent drink selection and tasty food. A perfect spot to relax. Highly recommend!
My steak was relatively well cooked, it was medium rather than medium rare, but it was ok. Other than that I was not impressed at all. Order food at the bar, and they just don't care at all. I ordered the nachos, paid extra for added jalapenos.. waste of money, there were 12 jalapenos , this ought to be the standard amount? Not worth a surcharge. And I asked for some more salsa for my nachos because I was given about 3 little dots, and was given a tiny little ketchup cup and told that was all I was allowed. Unimpressed. The steak and a drink deal for about £14 was a good deal price wise. What can you expect for that money? Polite and friendly staff? That doesn't cost anything? But Nachos for £9, surely it wouldn't hurt to give some toppings? Service was very poor. Condiment tray just dumped on the table, no check back at all, food appeared to be an inconvenience to the bar staff who would rather not make the extra steps away from the taps at the bar. Really disappointing. Avoid.
Popped in for a drink and lunch. Friendly place. Attentive bar server. Good pub food menu. Had a cowboy burger which was really nice and bigger than I thought. The stay was nice so I ended staying for another drink. The pub is very clean.
Been here a few times, always busy which is always a good sign.
They have great offers on, as per pictures. They are dog friendly which is always good. Asked for a burger patty on its own for the dog, no problem at all.
Isn't very often you get an honest barman. On ordering a 2nd glass of wine, barman said would be better ordering a bottle of wine now as it works out alot cheaper. Others would have just let you order it.
