About This Pub
Oh, mate, let me tell you about Scruffy Murphy's – it's one of those pubs in Birmingham that really captures the spirit of the place, with its rock roots and lively vibe. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the beer is absolutely top drawer; folks rave about the Guinness and how it's a quick, affordable option for a proper pint. The staff are gems, always up for a chat and making everyone feel welcome, which is just what you want after a long day. That rock music and the jukebox add such a fun touch, transporting you back to the good old days of Birmingham's music scene, and it's all kept spick and span, which is a nice bonus. On the flip side, though, some have mentioned the drinks aren't as cheap as you'd hope – that £8.90 for a pint and a half stings a bit! And watch out for it getting a tad too toasty inside; it can feel like a sauna on warmer evenings, which might cut your night short. All in all, it's a solid spot for a pint and some tunes, but go in with realistic expectations, and you'll have a brilliant time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The beer selection is spot on, with pints like Guinness getting high praise for being great value and tasty.
-
The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
It's got a brilliant rock-themed atmosphere with a jukebox that takes card payments, perfect for fans of quality rock music and a cosy vibe.
-
The place is clean, well-organised, and nicely decorated, giving off that authentic Birmingham rock pub feel.
Cons
-
Drinks can feel a bit pricey at times, like shelling out nearly £9 for a pint and a half, which might not live up to expectations of being cheap.
-
It can get uncomfortably warm inside on busier nights, almost like they've cranked the heating up too high, which puts a damper on things.

Great place, good beer and the bar staff were very welcoming. Can't comment on food as only popped in for a drink
So 10 months ago someone wrote a review saying the drink were cheap. Well for a pint of cider and half a larger £8.90 isn't cheap at all! Great venue but not worth paying for in drinks
Great rock bar with a jukebox that takes card payments. Great pint of guiness. The only downside was that it was bowling when we went, almost like they had the heating on full blast!
Good beer. 🍺 Nice to stop by if you want a quick and affordable drink.
