About This Pub
Oh, mate, if you're after a proper cosy spot for a pint and some grub, Scotch Arms in Consett is one of those hidden gems that really delivers. From what I've seen, the Sunday lunches are the star of the show – people are going on about how tasty and well-cooked they are, whether you're tucking in there or taking it away. The atmosphere's got that quirky charm that makes you want to linger, and the staff are dead friendly, always up for a chat and making sure everyone's sorted. It's inexpensive too, so you won't feel like you've splashed out unnecessarily. On the flip side, it's a shame there's no website to peek at the menu or book ahead, and the opening times can vary a bit, especially on Sundays, so you might need to give them a ring first. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed outing – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, but just keep those little niggles in mind for a smoother visit.

Cons
-
There's no website or online presence listed, which makes it a bit tricky to check the menu or opening times in advance – you might have to pop in or call to sort things out.

The operating hours seem a tad inconsistent, especially on Sundays with varying start times, so it could be worth double-checking to avoid any disappointment.
-
As it's unclaimed on Google, the info might not be as up-to-date as it could be, meaning you could miss out on the latest updates or specials.

What can I say….booked a Table for Sunday Dinner but due to weather phoned & asked to change to a Takeout “not a problem” & can only give 5* review was absolutely delicious cooked to perfection & totally homemade….if I could’ve commented on the atmosphere of picking it up I would’ve given 5*s to be honest & looking forward to booking again be it sitting in or another Takeout if you haven’t tried it totally missing out
My first time today for a Sunday dinner. And, WOW, what a superb dinner it was. Warm welcome, and, well looked after by Louise. Had the pork option, beautifully tender, amazing mash and simply great food. The apple pie and custard to follow was delicious. Will certainly visit again. Would recommend booking, I was fortunate today to get a table.
