About This Pub

Ah, Demi Sports Bar – it's one of those places in Consett that just feels like a proper local haunt, you know? I've got to say, the drinks are an absolute bargain; you're looking at prices like £4.80 for a pint, which means you can enjoy a few without worrying about the tab. The atmosphere really comes alive on match days, especially for Newcastle United fans – it's buzzing with excitement and makes for a top night with friends. They've got pool tables and a function room that's spot on for parties or casual meet-ups, and it's nice to see it's quite welcoming for families too. The staff are always friendly and the place is kept clean with decent modern touches, plus there's good access for everyone. On the flip side, those pool tables are constantly occupied, so you might have to queue or skip it altogether, and it does seem to draw in a younger crowd lately, which could make it feel a bit lively for those after a quiet chat over a beer. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're up for some sporty fun and good value, but just keep in mind it might not be the most serene spot in town.

Cheap drinks £4.80 for a pint of morretti (December 2024). Good atmosphere NUFC match days and in general. Pool tables are a plus but are always in use. The function room is great and had a pool table aswell.

I’ve been to the Demi over the last 50 years for various occasions and it’s a great place. Kind friendly staff and atmosphere brilliant for a get together whatever the occasion happy or sad. The Demi is very child friendly I know this because I’m only 56 and as my family has continued to grow children have always been at our party’s I live in Staffordshire but always love returning to the Northeast and the Demi.

Good for watching sports with plenty of TV and big screen. Good choice of drinks. Pool table available for free. Seems to have become a bit of a youth club of late.

Fairly recently redecorated so decent modern decor. Good size function room with stage. Bar is very reasonably priced. Facilities are clean and staff are pleasant and helpful. Disabled access is good with a ramp up the side and plentiful parking if needed.
