About This Pub

Ah, San Marino Brixton – it's one of those places that just warms your cockles the moment you step in. I've heard from folks who've been going for years, and it's easy to see why; the coffee is genuinely brilliant, with that rich Sicilian flavour that perks you up no end, and the food options are a treat, whether you're tucking into a spicy chicken sandwich or opting for something vegan or halal. The staff really make it special too – they're so accommodating and cheerful, like they're part of the neighbourhood gang, ensuring everything from your drink to your meal is just right. It's ace for a relaxed catch-up with mates, especially with the outdoor seating for those sunny days or happy hour cocktails that offer great bang for your buck. On the downside, if you're after a massive menu with loads of choices, you might find it a tad restrictive, and it can get properly heaving during busy periods, which might mean a wait or a squeeze for space. All in all, it's a solid spot for a casual vibe or a quick refuel, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in Brixton – just pop in and see for yourself!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food and coffee are absolutely spot-on, with authentic Italian vibes that make every bite and sip feel special – think delicious paninis, cakes, and the best coffee in Brixton.
  • The staff are so warm and welcoming, always with a smile and top-notch service that makes you feel right at home, like chatting with old mates.
  • Brilliant value for money, especially with a great range of options for all tastes, including vegan, halal, and gluten-free choices, plus fun cocktails during happy hour.
  • The atmosphere is lovely, with cosy indoor vibes and nice outdoor seating that's perfect for soaking up the sun on a Brixton afternoon.
  • It's a flexible spot for everything from a quick coffee to private events, making it ideal for birthdays or casual gatherings with friends.
Cons
  • The menu can feel a bit limited if you're after a wide variety of dishes, so it might not suit everyone for a big meal.
  • It gets quite busy at peak times, which can mean waiting for a table or dealing with a bit of a crowd.
  • There might be some confusion with the opening hours listed, though it's generally open from early morning till late, so it's worth double-checking if you're planning ahead.

Great options for coffees, frappuccinos, milkshakes. Absolutely love the healthy shakes even that you can add protein too! Vegan and vegetarian food options, halal and also Gluten Free! Special shout out to the white chocolate mocha Frappuccino, and the mixed juices. Nice outdoor seating too so could visit and sit in the sun, even with our small dog with us. It’s quite big so plentiful seating options, but still a welcoming feel. Wheelchair friendly with a ramp at the front door for those with disability or mobility needs

One of my favorite spots, especially for brunch, is this place. You absolutely have to try the coffee and cakes—my personal favorite is the red velvet. The spicy chicken sandwich and chicken panini are also delightful; I'm sure you'll love them!

San Marino is a charming café and bar, offering cooked breakfasts and sandwiches, though the menu selection is somewhat limited. The establishment is clean, the prices are reasonable, and the staff are pleasant, contributing to a generally positive atmosphere. It can become quite busy at times. It opens early and closes late. Parking is not available, but there is step-free access.
