About This Pub
Ah, the Red Barn in Bexleyheath – it's one of those local spots that really pulls you in with its warm, community feel, you know? I love how the staff go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome; they're always up for a chat and handle things with a smile, which makes for a proper relaxed evening. If you're into watching the big games, it's spot on with all the live sports on offer, and those drink deals are an absolute bargain – perfect for not breaking the bank on a Friday night out. The beer garden and function room are gems too, especially if you're planning a get-together or just fancy some fresh air with your pint, and it's lovely that it's dog-friendly for us pet owners. On the flip side, it's a bit gutting that they've ditched the food service entirely; I remember hearing good things about it before, and now you're left to bring your own if you're peckish. Plus, the inside could do with a spruce-up – that peeling wallpaper and sticky tables aren't doing it any favours, and it sometimes lacks that spark of atmosphere you'd hope for. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back drink and a laugh with friends, but keep expectations realistic and maybe plan around the entertainment to get the best out of it.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and provide faultless service, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
It's a fantastic spot for catching live sports like football, rugby, or Formula 1 on HD screens, with a lively atmosphere that gets everyone buzzing.
-
With unbeatable drink offers and an inexpensive price level, it's easy on the wallet for a good night out or a casual pint.
-
The beer garden and function room are brilliant for gatherings, whether it's a birthday bash or just meeting mates, and it's even dog-friendly for those who bring their furry friends.
-
There's plenty of entertainment on offer, like live music, karaoke, pool, and darts, keeping things fun and engaging for all.
Cons
-
They've stopped serving food altogether, which is a real shame if you're after a bite to eat with your drink.
-
The interior decor feels a bit dated and neglected, with peeling wallpaper and sticky tables that could do with a freshen-up to improve the overall vibe.
-
Some experiences have been hit or miss, with occasional service slip-ups that might leave you a tad frustrated despite the generally welcoming team.
-
While the outside is tidy with nice seating, the inside lacks atmosphere at times, making it feel a bit underwhelming on quieter evenings.

We had a lovely meal here some months back so we brought friends here for lunch only to find they've completely stopped serving food.
We were, however, allowed to bring and eat a take-away.
Everything clean, tidy and welcoming with friendly and faultless service.
Had a quick drink with hubby while in the local shops.1st time actually going in this pub even though I'm a local. Was surprised as the outside is well kept, tidy with lots of seating but the inside decor is awful, very old with peeling wallpaper, no atmosphere, the tables were sticky and just very drab. The barmaid was polite and friendly but a huge disappointment, would sit outside for a drink but not inside until it's completely renovated.
The pub its self was lovely and friendly but the food was shocking, we had so many errors with our food, I was up and down asking for the errors to be rectified. The staff were great and sorted it all out for us. Apart from one man he basically told us we had only ordered 5 chicken dinners when my sister in law showed him her confirmation, we. Never even got an apology for his curt manner.
The main meal was stone cold so by this time we had enough.
We were sat by a door and the elders of the group were frozen. I would like to add the lady bar staff were lovely and so helpful.
We hired the function room with private garden for our 40th Anniversary Party. It was a perfect venue for 60 people and we had a lot of comments from guests about what a great venue it was. Karen and her team were great from the moment we viewed the hall until we left after the party. All staff were polite, friendly and professional and couldn't do enough to make sure our celebration went smoothly. A big thank you to them all.
Meet my daughter after work and enjoyed an evening at Red Barn, the food was lovely and nicely presented. It was a Friday evening and they had Prosecco on offer at a very reasonable price which added to the evening’s enjoyment!
