About This Pub
Ah, The Half Moon in Herne Hill – it's one of those places that just draws you in with its classic Grade II-listed charm and a real sense of history. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are an absolute delight, always going the extra mile to make sure everything runs smoothly, whether you're popping in for a quick drink or sorting out a special event. The food really shines too; think hearty breakfasts that start your day right or those tasty sharing boards with a great mix of cheeses, meats, and more – it's all about enjoying good, honest grub in a relaxed setting. And let's not forget the outdoor garden, which sounds ideal for whiling away an afternoon with friends, especially on a nice day. On the downside, it's a bit frustrating that the operating hours aren't easy to find, so you might end up turning up at the wrong time and missing out. Plus, if you remember it as a lively music spot from years back, it might not quite live up to those memories now. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening or a comfy overnight stay, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area – just keep an eye on when it's open!

It's not the live music venue it used to be, so if you're after that kind of buzz, it might feel a tad different from the old days.

A trip down memory lane to The Half Moon. I was a regular many years ago when it was a well known live music venue. The space is the same though the usage has changed, but just entering brought back so many happy memories. Had an excellent breakfast. Very good friendly service.
We had attended a wedding pre-party there at the Half Moon, Herne Hill and the area outside under the eves was great. The weather was good but the eve kept those that didn’t want to be in the sun covered. But there was some that could also benefit from some sunny areas there. The vibe was great. A busy place so if you want an area for a group, book early. Food was really good. Large selection for those that want just nibbles or those wanting a full meal. I had the beer battered fish and chips! Fantastic! I highly recommend the Half Moon. Location is good as London is a big place.

Came to the Half Moon before going to Cross The Tracks Festival.
Lovely old very large pub just across from Brockwell Park.
Plenty of seating and a large garden out the back.
Had a sharing board and whipped feta. Great range of cheese and meat and plenty of bread as a sharing platter.
Good range of beers.
Staff were friendly.
I booked a room for my mum and auntie and drove them up there. The staff were so nice, the restaurant and bar area were cozy, the food was excellent. I went their rooms to check it out and they were immaculate and well designed, they both said they slept great. I thought the rooms were well ventilated, neither too hot or cold. Really impressed and would definitely book again!
We stayed at the Half Moon with family over our wedding weekend, and had a really fantastic stay. Ann-Marie was so helpful and responsive over email, supporting with some of our more complicated family logistics! The rooms are really beautiful, followed by a delicious breakfast. Thank you again!
