About This Pub
Ah, the Queen's Hotel in Macclesfield is one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered, it's all about enjoying a cracking pint of traditional ale or lager at a bargain price, especially with those £3 deals during the week – it's dead easy on the pocket and makes for a great night without breaking the bank. The staff are an absolute delight, always attentive and creating that cosy atmosphere where you can chat away with mates or catch up on live music and sports. There's plenty to keep you entertained, like free pool, darts, or even an open mic night, and the beer garden's a nice touch for when the weather's on your side. On the other hand, it's not the place if you're after a full meal, as it seems more geared towards drinks and vibes rather than grub, and the opening hours kick off a tad late, which might not suit everyone for a quick daytime stop. Still, for a straightforward, enjoyable pub experience with good company and a bit of fun, it's well worth a visit – I'd say give it a go and see for yourself!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The selection of traditional cask ales and lagers is spot on, with cracking deals like £3 pints from Sunday to Thursday – makes it a wallet-friendly spot for a proper pint.
-
Friendly staff and a welcoming landlady who go the extra mile, creating that warm, community vibe that's just lovely for a casual catch-up.
-
Loads of entertainment on offer, from live music every Friday and Saturday, to open mic nights, free pool and darts midweek – keeps things lively without feeling overwhelming.
-
A cracking beer garden and function room for events, plus it's dog-friendly, which is brilliant if you're popping in with your furry mate.
-
Clean and comfortable inside, with live sports on the big screens, so you won't miss the big games, and the special offers like Fizz Friday add a fun twist.
Cons
-
It doesn't seem to focus much on food, with reviews mentioning it's more about drinks, so if you're after a hearty meal, you might need to look elsewhere.
-
Opening times start a bit late in the afternoon on most days, which could be a downside if you're keen for an early lunch or a midday tipple.
-
The hours vary and can wrap up earlier on Sundays, meaning it might not suit late-night outings if you're after a proper session.

My local/regular haunt. Great vibe in here. Great people. Free pool Monday to Thursday which is ace and also
£3 all pints Monday to Thursday also. Absolute winner.
Wonderful staff all really attentive and the landlady is an absolute superstar 10/10.
Can't comment on food but nice atmosphere, clean, good prices and friendly staff. I am travelling through via train and arrived early before my next connection so had an hour or so to waste and this place was directly opposite the station so perfect for a pitstop. House red is lovely and barmaid informed of a deal to save myself some pennies. Toilets spotless and clean, whole pub is. Great selection on tap and a huge range of bottles to pick from. Very glad I stopped here for an hour! Also from advertising in the pub they have stuff on every Friday and Saturday so seems a lively place in the evening. Seems to be what I'd call a "proper" pub! Oh and it has a pool table for those who want to play...
Did not eat sure it’s fine . Very friendly clean great prices music brilliant for 3pm The Beat Mirror in the Bathroom
Visiting family and had drinks in the pub, it’s clean and set out nicely, there is a pool table and dart board also a games room. It has a new landlady and staff who were very welcoming and friendly. There was live music on this night a band called unfinished business, which we enjoyed.
I am giving it five stars as I played there with my band on sat 18th November and the landlady and the bar staff we're so helpful the pub is so clean the beer is good to and if the locals support the live music scene in the area the pub will be in hit.
and with the friendly locals who was in the pub I will be getting a train from Manchester and visiting Macclesfield more often 👍🏻
