About This Pub
Ah, the Queen Elizabeth – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot for a proper British get-together. I've got to say, the food is a standout; whether it's their hearty Sunday roasts or the fixed-price menus with plenty of choices for veggies and vegans, everything comes out piping hot and full of flavour, as folks have raved about in their reviews. The service is spot on too – think friendly faces who go the extra mile, like making a wedding reception memorable or sorting out cheeky treats for the dogs. It's brilliantly located right by Epping Forest, with a sunny patio that's perfect for whiling away an evening, and that free parking is a bonus when you're coming from further afield. On the flip side, it can get a bit dear if you're popping in regularly, and as part of a chain, it doesn't have that one-of-a-kind vibe some might crave. Still, for a solid, reliable spot to eat, drink, and chat with mates, it's well worth a visit – I'd pop back in a heartbeat for another round.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely brilliant – from tasty pub dishes and Sunday roasts to vegetarian and vegan options, it's all spot on and great value for money.
-
Service is top-notch; the staff are friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home, as seen in those glowing reviews about weddings and family meals.
-
It's wonderfully dog-friendly and family-oriented, with a sunny patio perfect for relaxing on warmer days, especially near Epping Forest.
-
Convenient location with free parking, easy access from the M11, and a cosy atmosphere that's ideal for a catch-up or a special occasion.
-
Wide selection of drinks and menus, including kids' options, making it versatile for different groups.
Cons
-
It might feel a tad pricey for everyday visits, with meals adding up to around £100 for four with drinks, though it's still reasonable for the quality.
-
As a chain pub, it could lack that unique, quirky charm of independent spots, feeling a bit more standardised.
-
The operating hours seem a touch inconsistent in the listings, which might confuse folks planning a visit, even if it's generally open daily.

Had our wedding reception for 20 people, all loved their food, had a broad range of the menu.. It was all so tasty and service was exceptional. You made our night
Excellent Sunday roast today for 6 adults, a baby and a happy dog (who enjoyed some cheeky ends of meat and trimmings from the kitchen!)
Very good vfm and the £2.50 add on desserts were a nice touch. Good service. Two professional chefs in our party were very happy with their roast :) thank you, we’ll be back.
Can’t say a bad thing about this place! Amazing food, lovely service, and great atmosphere. So nice that it’s right by Epping forest for a drink in the sun too. Special shout out to the chefs, Joanne, and Bertie ! Lovely people.
Great food and very quick service. A nice and calm atmosphere for our Easter Sunday lunch. Thank you to the team and a shoutout to the chefs - the bacon cheeseburger was yummy! The rainbow lasagne was piping hot and delicious. We will be back
1st time visit for my birthday lunch.
Lovely looking pub, very nice staff.
Food was piping hot and very good.
Dog friendly.
Just over £100 for four adults, food and drinks (including two bottles of wine).
Little observation......the car park at the back is .massive.......would be great if part of it could be converted into an outdoor seating area.
Will definitely revisit.
