About This Pub
Ah, Quay House Beefeater – it's one of those places that feels like a reliable old mate for a meal out in Salford, especially if you're fancying some classic pub grub with a view of the Quays. From what I've gathered chatting about it, the staff really shine through; they're often described as super helpful and polite, like Eva who seems to be a real gem, making sure everyone feels looked after. Plus, those lunchtime specials are an absolute bargain – eight mains under £8 from Monday to Friday? Count me in for something like the smothered chicken melt or a steak salad. And on a sunny day, grabbing a seat outside with a refreshing cocktail is just the ticket for a relaxed catch-up. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses; there are times when the food doesn't quite hit the mark, like when spuds turn up undercooked or key items are missing from the menu, which can leave you a bit miffed. Service can vary too – while it's generally spot on, a few have had off moments with staff being a tad short or waits stretching longer than you'd hope. Overall, it's a decent shout for a casual get-together, but I'd say it's worth checking the specials and maybe booking ahead to dodge any potential hiccups. If you're up for a balanced pub experience with both highs and lows, give it a go and see for yourself!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant – folks like Eva and the team really go out of their way to make you feel welcome, with top-notch service that's warm and attentive.
-
They've got some cracking deals on offer, like the daytime lunch menu with mains under £8, perfect for a budget-friendly bite without skimping on flavour.
-
The food can be spot on when it's good, with tasty options like beer-battered fish and chips or that honey sriracha pork rib stack, especially if you're after a hearty pub grub fix.
-
Lovely spot with outdoor dining and great views of Salford Quays, ideal for soaking up the summer vibes with a cocktail in hand.
-
It's conveniently located and open seven days a week, making it easy to pop in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, with flexible hours to suit most plans.
Cons
-
Food quality can be hit or miss – some dishes don't quite live up to expectations, like potatoes that end up more boiled than roasted, which is a bit disappointing.
-
Service isn't always consistent; a few folks have mentioned rude or passive-aggressive interactions, which can put a damper on an otherwise nice outing.
-
There are occasional issues with missing items on the menu, such as no Yorkshire puddings for the roast or shortages of popular sides, leading to frustration.
-
Wait times can drag on, with some experiences involving long delays for food or corrections, which isn't ideal if you're in a hurry or with a group.
-
Despite the moderate prices, the overall experience sometimes falls short of the hype, especially with mixed reviews highlighting reliability as a weak point.

After years of avoiding beefeater restaurants after a very bad experience, we braved the Quay House for our evening meal whilst visiting Salford to see family and attend a concert in the co op arena. I'm happy to say our visit was a very pleasant one, and especially our interactions with Eva has made us trust the brand again, and made our evening an wonderful experience 10/10 Eva is an asset to your team.
Came in on Sunday for dinner with my family and it was such a lovely experience!! The food was delicious and the staff were super friendly and accommodating! Eva was so polite and helpful and couldn’t have done more for us🥰We will be back again!!!
First off, I ordered the Crushed Roasted Potatoes and the Spinach Curry. When my Roasted Potatoes came they were NO WHERE near roasted, they were actually just boiled potatoes. Then when I asked nicely to send them back the server was rude and being passive aggressive. It then took over 40 minutes to get my Spinach Curry and even then my portion was SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than the person I was with. It was so small that I had to go out, spend my own money AGAIN and buy a Tesco's meal deal because of the lack of food. The server had come back to the table a couple of times and everytime she was passive aggressive beyond belief.
First time visiting here a few weeks ago for food and drinks. Bar and restaurant staff were brilliant; Phebo, Millie, Eva and Jack. Really enjoyed the food and lovely views sitting outside. Will definitely go again
Booked a table for Sunday for 8 adults. Upon entering was told no Yorkshire puddings for the roast, (whole reason for going there). Then offered extra veg instead of Yorkshire pudding. Then was told no gamon but they had gamon for the main menu. No mac n cheese, no tartar sauce for the fish. Order a selection of food off starter n mains. Chicken was over cooked, cheese n chips smelt vile so wasn't ate. Fish had been under heat lamps for that long it had dried out so wasn't eaten. Service was awful, not once came over to ask if everything was OK. Sat there for over 30mins with plates still on table. Wasn't offered desert menu or extra drinks. We had to ask for the bill off another member of staff. Had better meals at wetherspoons. Will never be eating there again. 0 star rating as birthday meal was ruined. And will not recommend for anyone to eat here. We complained but only offered us discount for the next time we went in which we declined.
