About This Pub
Ah, let me tell you about the Princess Helena Arts Centre – it's this charming little bar tucked away in Hartlepool that's part pub and part creative hub, which I think is rather lovely. From what I've gathered from the reviews and their website, it's a place where you can pop in for a pint and end up staying for karaoke or a quiz night; the events lineup sounds like a right laugh, and folks have raved about the pool table and the well-kept beer that hits the spot just right. The staff come across as absolute stars, always ready with a smile and a chat, which really makes it feel like a community spot. On the flip side, though, there have been a few grumbles about dodgy opening times – imagine turning up for a quick drink only to find the door shut when it shouldn't be, which is a bit of a letdown. And let's be honest, with everything that's gone on in recent years, they might not always be at their best, but they're clearly trying their hardest. Overall, if you're after a laid-back evening with a creative twist, it's worth a visit, but maybe check ahead to avoid any surprises. I'd say it's a solid choice for us pub enthusiasts looking for that personal touch without the big-city fuss.

Cons
-
There have been times when the opening hours seem a bit unreliable, like when someone was turned away even though it was meant to be open.

It might struggle with external challenges, such as past issues from Brexit and Covid, which could affect the consistency of service.
-
With a mixed bag of reviews, it's not always hitting the mark for everyone, so you might have an off day.

A little gem of a pub alcohol and a pool table what more do you want 😁😁😁
Lovely little local doing the best they can with brexit and covid tying their hands so even a couple of pints by a few people a couple of times a week would support them Saturday nights is karaoke so a good night to think about 🎤👍
What a pub it is totally immaculate. Staff are just the best and will go out of their way to make you welcome. Definitely 5 stars.
I have just tried to walk in the door of this establishment for a quick pint, only to be told by a staff member that it is closed. Clearly it is not closed as the patrons are still drinking and it closes at midnight. Avoid. 🙂👍
