About This Pub

Ah, No8 Bar – it's one of those hidden spots that really grows on you once you step inside. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this lovely, welcoming feel with staff who go out of their way to make you comfortable, and the drinks are spot on, offering a great range of beers and ales that hit the spot without breaking the bank. The atmosphere is what makes it special, though – imagine settling into a snug downstairs with a digital jukebox playing your tunes, creating that perfect pub buzz. On the flip side, there was that one review mentioning a queue issue where friends of the bar staff seemed to get preferential treatment, which isn't ideal and could leave you feeling a bit miffed if it happens. Plus, with it only being open four days a week and tucked away a little, it might not be the easiest place for a spontaneous night out. Overall, if you're in the area and up for a chatty, character-filled evening, I'd say give it a go – it's got more ups than downs, but just keep those little niggles in mind for a balanced pint!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in
  • They've got a cracking selection of beers, ales, and spirits – perfect for a proper pint or something a bit special
  • The atmosphere is full of character, with great little touches like a snug downstairs and a digital jukebox that adds to the fun
  • It's good value for money, with fast service that keeps things flowing smoothly
Cons
  • There have been a few grumbles about queuing not always being fair, like if the bar staff's mates jump the line
  • It's only open four days a week, which might make it tricky to pop in whenever you fancy
  • The place is a tad out of the way, so it could take a bit of effort to get to
  • With just a handful of reviews, it feels like it might not be on everyone's radar just yet

What a great little bar this is, packed to the brim of great fixtures and whisper this so it stays a secret 🤫 they have a snug downstairs with a digital juke box ! Highly recommended and a great selection of beers/ales and spirits and service was brilliant too.

A queue is a queue whether you're friends with the bar tender or not. Pub lovely but when you place your order before the bar tenders friend you expect to be served 1st....... sorry I'm old school and expect a fair system 🤷‍♀️

Really charismatic and quaint bar full of atmosphere and character. Had a lovely chat to the new manageress and she is really friendly. If we had some rotation on good guest ales this would easily be my new favourite pub in the world. Would love to do some atmospheric gaming in this place as it would really work for background ambiance. Will definitely be coming back soon.
