About This Pub

Ah, the Prince of Wales in Bloxwich – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot for a proper, down-to-earth night out. From the reviews, it's clear the staff and owner are absolute stars, always up for a chat and making sure everyone feels welcome, which is just what you want after a long day. The place is spotlessly clean and has that old-school feel with an open fire that makes it feel well cosy, especially if you're popping in for a quiet drink with mates. It's also great to hear it's accessible and comfortable for folks with disabilities or those who prefer a less hectic spot. But, to be fair, there was that one comment about some of the crowd being a tad standoffish to outsiders, which could put a dampener on things if you're new to the area. Overall, with a solid rating pushing 4.4, it's mostly positive feedback, so if you're in Walsall, I'd say give it a go – it's a gem with just a few rough edges.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff and owner are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • It's a clean and tidy spot, with that classic old-school pub charm that's just lovely for a relaxed catch-up.
  • The homely atmosphere, complete with an open fire, is perfect for chilling out with friends on a chilly evening.
  • It's a comfortable place even if you're dealing with mobility issues or anxiety, as it's welcoming and doesn't get too crowded.
Cons
  • Some of the regulars can be a bit unwelcoming to newcomers, which might make you feel out of place if you're not a familiar face.
  • With no website or online presence, it's a bit tricky to get the latest info before you head over.

The premises are clean and typical of an old fashioned pub sadly the same cannot be said for the customers. I found the customers in there st the time of my visit looked at me as though I had no right to be invading their space and I felt most unwelcome. I shall not be visiting again.
