About This Pub

You know, when I think about the Premier Inn High Wycombe Central, it really strikes me as one of those dependable places that does the basics brilliantly – it's got that prime town centre location, so you're never far from a good meal or a bit of shopping, and the rooms are just what you need after a long day, with modern comforts like Wi-Fi and a decent shower that make you feel right at home. The breakfast gets a big thumbs up from most folks; it's straightforward, filling, and a lovely way to kick off your morning, whether you're popping in for a quick bite or staying over. On the flip side, parking's a bit of a mixed bag – sure, they've got a deal, but you can often find cheaper options just around the corner, and navigating to the entrance might have you scratching your head at first. There was that one mention of less-than-friendly staff, which is a shame because it can really colour your experience, but overall, with an average rating hovering around 4.1, it's clear that most people have a positive time here. If you're after a straightforward, no-fuss venue for a night or two, I'd say give it a go – just keep those little niggles in mind to make the most of it!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The location is absolutely spot on, right in the heart of High Wycombe's town centre, making it a breeze to nip out for a wander around the Eden Shopping Centre or catch a train into London.
  • Rooms are comfy and modern, with handy touches like free Wi-Fi, a coffee machine, and a powerful shower – perfect for unwinding after a day out.
  • Breakfast comes highly recommended; it's a proper hearty affair that sets you up nicely, with plenty of options to fuel your morning.
  • It's clean and welcoming overall, with some guests raving about the spacious, cosy feel and attentive staff who go the extra mile.
Cons
  • Parking can be a bit of a hassle – while there's a discount at £9 for 24 hours, you might snag cheaper spots nearby, like the Dovecot Multi Storey for just £5, especially on Sundays or bank holidays.
  • The entrance is a tad awkward, squeezing past the Sainsbury's car park, which might leave you feeling a bit disoriented when you first arrive.
  • Service isn't always top-notch; one experience mentioned rude staff at reception, which isn't ideal when you're hoping for that friendly hotel vibe.
  • No clear operating hours listed, so you might have to plan around that or double-check to avoid any surprises.

Car parking is cheapest in Dovecot Multi Storey car park: £5 for 24 hours rather than £9 via the Premier Inn/Horizon. Parking on a Sunday or Bank Holiday is only £1. We stayed Sunday to Tuesday so we paid for the first 24 hours (on the Monday) for £1 and then paid again as we departed on the Tuesday for £5. 48 hours parking for less than Premier Inn’s 24 hours (£6 for 48 hours vs £9 for 24 hours, £18 for 48 hours). Even if we hadn’t stayed on a Sunday 48 hours parking would only have been £10. The Multi Storey isn’t the most pleasant but we had no issues; certainly better than the Premier Inn’s dedicate parking space next to the entrance for Magnet/Explore Learning on Archway (which is ground level of the multi storey).

Stayed one night when attending a show at the Swan Theatre. Very convenient for the town, very clean and comfortable room with everything that you could want. Easy to park and a great breakfast in the morning - altogether a great experience! Many thanks!

Very comfortable room with good Aircon and bathroom. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and had a good night's sleep. Used self check in and out so didn't relate to any staff. The location is very central although the entrance is a bit odd making ones way past the Sainsbury's car park. Overall would recommend

Amazing place for spending your vacation and enjoying the delightful company of the staff. Rooms are very spacious and cozy. Food was mouth watering served by our handsome chef vijay and greeted well by receptionist who was really kind and ready to help. All in all a very great experience here at premier inn High Wycombe central. Thanks all ♥️

Surprisingly good stay. Comfortable, quiet rooms, good shower. Typical breakfast, however the buffet doesn’t seem to be regularly refreshed. There was nobody on reception when I arrived and had to wait, and the member of staff when they did arrive, was rude, which isn’t the usual PI standard. Other members of staff were very friendly. For these reasons a decent 3 stars was awarded.
