About This Pub

Ah, Pop Brixton – it's one of those places that really captures the spirit of the area, isn't it? I mean, stepping in feels like diving into a creative hub where everything from music to food vendors brings the community together in such a welcoming way. You'll find yourself surrounded by a mix of people enjoying the eclectic bars and delicious grub, like those mouthwatering Caribbean dishes or limited-edition cocktails that folks rave about. It's brilliant for catching up with mates over events or just a casual drink, and the outdoor setup adds this extra charm, making it feel fresh and alive. But, let's be honest, it has its downsides too – on busier days, the queues for the facilities can be a bit of a nuisance, and with the space being on the smaller side, you might struggle to find a seat or feel a tad squished in the crowd. Still, for what it offers in terms of vibe and variety, it's a solid choice if you're in Brixton and up for something with real character, as long as you go in with realistic expectations for the hustle and bustle.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely buzzing with fantastic music and a really mixed, welcoming crowd that makes you feel right at home.
  • There's a brilliant selection of independent food vendors and bars, serving up delicious options like Caribbean dishes and special drinks – perfect for exploring new tastes.
  • The outdoor space is a real highlight, ideal for soaking up events, sports screenings, or just chilling with friends in a creative, community-focused setting.
  • It's got that relaxed, lively vibe that's great for casual meet-ups, with plenty of variety to keep things interesting.
Cons
  • It can get pretty crowded, especially on weekends, which means queues for the toilets and a scramble for seats – not ideal if you're after a laid-back evening.
  • The space isn't massive, so when it's busy, it might feel a bit cramped and overwhelming, making it tough to move around freely.
  • Some areas, like seating, just aren't sufficient for larger groups, so you might end up standing or hunting for a spot.
  • While it's charming, a few visitors note it's more of a quick stop than a full night out, as there are other spots nearby that might offer more room.

Good music and a nice mixed crowd. There was a nice relaxed atmosphere with multiple bars and food vendors (the jerk smelled amazing so will be trying it next time for sure!) The toilets are mixed and can get busy so be prepared to queue during busy times. Our small group went on a Saturday afternoon, so there was no need to queue, but it did get busier as the evening progressed and the venue filled with walk-ins and people who'd attended earlier ticketed events.

Love the vibe of this place. Really great ambiance, DJ and selection of food/ bars. We had delicious Caribbean food with rum punch. Then we bought mango habanero margaritas from a different bar. I believe that these are limited edition so highly recommend getting them whilst you can!

Visited pop brixton just to have a walk around. Had the doubles (chick pea) wrap dish which was delicious and very close to authentic Trinidad street food. Enjoyed it and would have it again for sure. £4 and very tasty at Trini Tings. Good clean service. Nice vibe, music and people watching. Bar drinks are tiny

Not very big, quite beautiful...improvised from shipping containers, painted in cheerful colors. A few stands that sell fast food, about 3 that sell alcohol, places at tables that are clearly insufficient when the place is crowded. Beautiful, worth a short stop. However, there are many other locations of the same kind in London, much more attractive.
