About This Pub
Ah, Pier 6 Boardwalk Cafe – it's one of those places that just feels right for a casual catch-up by the sea in Bridlington. From what I've gathered from folks who've popped in, the food really shines; the fish and chips are a standout, all fresh and flavoursome, and they've nailed the gluten-free choices, which is a proper bonus if you're coeliac or just being mindful. The staff are generally cheerful and on the ball, making sure your meal comes out quick and piping hot, and it's spotlessly clean with great views through the big windows or from the outdoor seats. But, let's keep it real, it's not without its downsides – some have said the portions don't quite match the price tag, and it can feel a bit steep for a casual bite, especially with that touristy markup. Still, if you're after a reliable spot for a hearty meal without too much fuss, it's worth swinging by, as long as you go in with your expectations set for a relaxed, seaside affair rather than a bargain basement deal.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The fish and chips are absolutely spot on – fresh, tasty, and highly recommended by everyone who's tried them.
-
They've got brilliant gluten-free options, which is a real winner if you're watching what you eat, and the staff know their stuff about it.
-
Service is usually prompt and friendly, with staff going out of their way to make you feel welcome, especially in that lovely seaside setting.
-
It's clean and tidy, even when it's buzzing, and the outdoor seating lets you soak up the views of the sea – perfect for a relaxed meal.
-
Good value for money on the whole, with hot, well-presented dishes that hit the spot, like a solid English breakfast or a decent cup of tea.
Cons
-
Portions can feel a bit on the small side, especially when you're paying seaside prices, which might leave you wanting more for your money.
-
Prices are on the higher end, particularly for what you get – some have mentioned it feels overpriced compared to the menu or other local spots.
-
Service might not always be at its chattiest, especially towards the end of the day when it's busy, so you could experience a slight dip in warmth.
-
One or two gripes about the overall experience, like waiting in less than ideal spots or food not being packaged properly if you're taking away.
-
It's got that typical tourist trap vibe with 'seaside pricing', so if you're after bargains, it might not be the best pick in Bridlington.

Went here a couple of weeks ago. Sat outside in the lovely seating area they have . Was attended to very promptly.. we both had fish and chips. Would highly recommend. Very good
Picture of clear plates as the burgers were hot and I wasn't wasting time as I was too hungry but the burger and chips my Mam and I had were delicious.
Close to the seaside with big widows to see the sea.
Clean and tidy even on Easter Monday we were lucky to get a table as it was busy.
We came here as it was one of the few fish and chip restaurants with gluten free options.
All 4 of us agreed the food and service was great. Would have lost a star just for the pricing which really is “seaside tourist” but they are probably paying extortionate rent.
The fish and chip, scampi, mushy peas platter (first pic) was circa £17.00. Normal plate fish and chips (second photo) was circa £14.50.
Amazing fish and chips yes it's not the cheapest in brid but you pay for what you get the fish was absolutely amazing and chips perfect not cheap frozen ones I highly recommend ........the staff was so helpful and cheerful and got us anything we asked for
A rare treat of fish and chips followed by a very indulgent dessert ... all, might I add, being gluten free!
Excellent service from start to finish, a warm welcome, a good menu to choose from including a gluten free one.
Food was quickly served, hot and very, very tasty indeed.
Staff were friendly and helpful and there was a really nice atmosphere.
There was seating inside and outside, I opted to stay inside; the outside area has great views.
I've added photos of the puffin has been 'on show' here, too.
