About This Pub

You know, when you fancy a spot that's easy to get to and offers a bit of everything, Passion Blend & HindBar really fits the bill. It's just across from the train station, so it's ideal if you're killing time between journeys or meeting mates for a casual catch-up. I loved the food – the hand-cut chips and chicken were spot on, and they've got this great mix of British favourites and international dishes like grilled tilapia with African spices, all at prices that won't break the bank, especially with their meal deals and happy hours. The atmosphere is buzzing too, with live sports on the screens and a pool table for a bit of fun, making it feel like a proper lively hangout. On the downside, it was a tad cold inside when I visited, so I ended up keeping my coat on, and I've heard from a few folks that service can be inconsistent – some staff are brilliant, but others might seem a bit green or even a touch abrupt, like in that one review where things went south with the food. Still, it's a solid choice for a quick pint and a bite, and I'd say it's worth giving it a try if you're in the area, just go in with realistic expectations and maybe pick a warmer day!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • It's got a brilliant spot right opposite Leicester's main train station, making it perfect for a quick stop before catching your train.
  • The staff are really friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience feel warm and inviting.
  • The food is a real highlight – think tasty British pub classics mixed with international flavours like African cuisine, and it's all quite affordable with great deals on offer.
  • They've got a lively atmosphere with regular events, live sports, and even a pool table, so it's buzzing no matter when you drop in.
  • Plenty of drink options and specials, including happy hours and discounts for students and NHS folk, which is a nice touch for keeping things accessible.
Cons
  • It can get quite chilly inside, so you might want to bring a jacket along to stay comfortable.
  • Some of the staff seem a bit inexperienced at times, which can lead to service that's not always as smooth as you'd hope.
  • There have been a few reports of rude behaviour from certain team members, and the odd disappointing meal, which puts a damper on things.
  • It's more suited for a quick visit rather than settling in for the evening, as the overall experience might not hold up for longer stays.

I had a few hours wait for my train and went here to grab some food and a drink while waiting, friendly staff and atmosphere and the food was lovely. The hand cut chips and chicken were really tasty. Highly recommend if you want a pint and some good food.

Bar staff were very friendly but clearly inexperienced (Not their fault but due to lack of leadership) I can't quote on the food but my advice would be bring a coat because it's very cold inside. Ok for a quick pint but not local material unfortunately as it's freezing inside. This pub has so much potential to be a key staple of Leicester it really does and it's shame it doesn't. You have a prime location, nice staff and long opening hours. My simple advice to make this pub into staple of Leicester is 1. Make sure it's warm inside (double glaze your windows it's 2025 come on) 2. Make sure your staff know how to pour a pint without a huge head especially for the price (again not the staffs fault it's a lack of leadership)If this was resolved I would happily make this my local.

Ordered a meal from them and the cook made the worse most unsafe very-small, bony food/soup and insisted it was all Uber’s fault. They were rude unkind and offered no solution. It was clearly a deliberate action and one NGOZI lady SCREAMED at us and insisted we should trash the food that it was her birthday and she didn’t care and that it was ALL Uber’s fault after telling her we hadn’t eaten all day. She stopped her staff who were trying to apologise and fix it. It was a very draining and deeply heartbreaking encounter

The closest pub to Leicester train station. This pub has a few different elements. Has a pool and table and is known for showing live sports. It is also sells African food focusing on Nigerian cuisine. Staff were really great when we went in for drinks. This is a lively pub with many people passing through owing to the central location. I would come and eat here and I think that the food looked really good as it was leaving the kitchen. Portion sizes were very big. Prices were also keen too and not too expensive. Although there are a few pubs as one goes closer to the city centre this one is pretty good place to meet and do things.

The food was so tasty and affordable. And the service was also really warm, exceptional and prompt. I will definitely be coming again. Thank you for the authentic home-made taste.
