About This Pub

Ah, the Owl and Pussycat – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a breath of fresh air, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff are absolute stars, always up for a bit of banter and making sure everyone has a great time, which really sets the tone for a proper night out. You've got live music and sports on the telly to keep things exciting, plus that separate games room with the pool table for when you fancy a bit of friendly rivalry. And don't overlook the food van out back; it's apparently a winner for grabbing something tasty without leaving the premises. On the downside, it might not be the liveliest spot if you turn up early in the day, and without an online presence, it's a bit of a faff to plan ahead or get more details. All things considered, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening with friends, offering that classic pub charm with a few rough edges, but hey, that's what makes it feel authentic.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The bar staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • It's got a brilliant atmosphere with live music, sports on the screens, and a separate games room featuring a pool table – perfect for a laugh with your mates.
  • They've got a fantastic food van attached, which serves up some cracking grub and gets loads of praise.
  • This is a proper old-school pub that's great for live entertainment and a good old chinwag, making it a real gem in the area.
Cons
  • It can be a bit quiet during off-peak times, like early on a Sunday, so it might not always buzz with energy.
  • There's no website listed, which makes it tricky to check out events or the menu in advance.
  • The operating hours seem a tad inconsistent based on what's available, which could leave you scratching your head about when to pop in.

Old school pub, a dying breed and awful shame..! Great boozer, well worth a visit if local... Pool table in separate bar and live music on occasion... Has a banging food van attached which is worth a visit on its own - 10 ⭐ - 5 for each of them..!

Didn't eat there. The place is massive and has a separate games room (park the kids maybe 😆 ) Was quiet when i went early on Sunday. Bar staff are quality. My son has just moved into the area, will definately be going back soon.
