About This Pub
Ah, Oktogon – it's one of those hidden gems in Knowle that really captures that Nordic warmth with its inviting decor and cosy setup. I have to say, chatting about it with you lot feels just right; it's like we're sharing a pint over what makes it tick. From what I've gathered, the atmosphere is spot on – think animal skin rugs and a welcoming space that's perfect for everything from a casual coffee to a lively Friday night with gins in hand. The pizzas stand out as a real highlight; plenty of people rave about them being fresh and full of flavour, using local ingredients that make you feel good about your choices. And the staff? They're an absolute treat, always friendly and on hand to sort you out, whether you're there for a baby shower or just popping in for a drink. On the flip side, though, it's not all smooth sailing – the drinks do tend to be on the expensive side, which might make you think twice if you're out for a budget-friendly evening. Plus, the food menu isn't exactly extensive, and there have been a few grumbles about dry pizzas or not enough toppings, not to mention the odd overcharge mishap that could put a damper on things. That cooking smoke can linger a bit too, which isn't ideal if you're sensitive to smells. All in all, it's a solid spot for a good time with mates, but going in with realistic expectations will make for a better visit – weigh up the pros and cons, and you'll likely have a cracking night.
Pros and Cons
Pros

-
Their pizzas are top-notch; I've heard from folks that they're some of the best around, with great flavours and fresh ingredients.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to make your visit enjoyable, whether it's for a quick bite or a special occasion.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of craft cocktails, gins, and beers, perfect for those who appreciate a well-made drink.
-
It's a versatile place that works well for daytime coffee or evening outings, with a welcoming feel that encourages good times.
Cons
-
Drinks can be a bit pricey, which might put a dent in your wallet if you're planning a longer night out.
-
The food options are somewhat limited, so if you're after a wide variety, you might find yourself wanting more choices.
-
There have been a few hiccups with overcharging due to till issues, which can be a bit frustrating when you're trying to settle up.
-
Some pizzas have been described as dry with not much topping, so it might not hit the spot every time.
-
The cooking smells, like smoke from the kitchen, can be a tad overpowering and might spoil the ambiance for some.

Went there today 1/12/24 for baby shower. Love the place atmosphere really good. Pizzas amazing best I’ve ever tasted. Staff really friendly & helpful. Will definitely be going back.
Drinks were very expensive, the food choice was limited, we were over charged twice because apparently the till wasn't programed correctly ?? The pizza was dry with very little topping or flavour, the dough balls were ok though. We left because the smell of smoke from the cooking was over powering and spent the rest of the evening smelling like we'd been at a bonfire. Won't be going back there, trying to be London trendy, with London prices without the atmosphere or quality.
Really enjoyed this place. The decor is supper cute and inviting, and I really enjoyed their pizza! Tried the truffle pizza and the cheese to sauce ratio was perfect! The sauce is also seasoned very well! The goat cheese pizza had great flavours that worked well other. Only downside was the crust was thin and cracker-like vs doughy and chewy.
Hidden little place down a brick lined alley in the middle of Knowle. Craft Beers and Gins. This is the sister venue of Skogan in Dorridge and is in the same Scandinavian style. Friendly staff serving drinks and pizza menu (not tried yet but heard someone in there saying it was superb)
A spacious and cool Scandinavian style bar and coffee shop. A wonderful little retreat in the centre of Knowle. Great for Friday night gins with a large variety of spirits. The ambience is warm and friendly with animal skin rugs upon the chairs. Definitely going to plan a few meet ups here! Would definitely recommend a visit. The service is also brilliant. All staff were friendly and helpful.
