About This Pub
You know, when I think about the Oddfellows Arms, it really stands out as one of those pubs that captures the heart of a good night out. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the place is all about that lively music scene – think bands playing live and keeping the energy high, which is brilliant if you're up for a singalong or just soaking in the atmosphere. The staff seem to go the extra mile, making everyone feel welcome, like that story of a visitor from the US who was treated like a local; it's those little touches that make it feel so homely. Plus, with a solid range of beers at fair prices and fun additions like outdoor seating, a pool table, and even darts, there's plenty to keep you entertained without it feeling stale. On the flip side, though, it's not all perfect – some folks have mentioned the music getting overwhelmingly loud, which could put a damper on things if you're hoping for a more relaxed catch-up. That one review about stepping outside because it was unbearable inside really highlights how it might not suit everyone, especially during busier events. Overall, I'd say it's a gem worth checking out if you're after a bit of excitement and community spirit, but maybe plan for a quieter visit if you prefer your evenings a bit more subdued. It's all about knowing what you're in for, and honestly, the good far outweighs the bad here.

Had an amazing night rounding of my birthday. Had a friend over from the US and the staff and owner welcomed him and made him feel like a local.

Fantastic afternoon seeing Pat & The Butchers play live. Good/friendly crowd; attentive, friendly service, decent prices and the band was on fine form.

This gem of a live music venue is tucked away in Apsley and absolutely worth a visit!
An awesome indoor and outdoor area, parking, an excellent selection of drinks and snacks, a pool table, darts, juke box, friendly atmosphere and LOADS of live music offerings plus a fab charity quiz - what more could you possibly want?!
They have some of the best bands I’ve ever seen and this little boozer is full of charm, I’m always looking forward to my next visit! Five stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Attended a Reggae night at The Oldfellows Arms in Hemel with high hopes – paid entry, brought multiple rounds for myself, my girlfriend, and later our family who joined us and also supported the bar by buying drinks.
We decided to sit outside for a bit as the music inside was unbearably loud, and not long after, a blonde woman who seemed to be the manager came out with an unnecessary attitude. Despite the venue being far from full with plenty of empty tables, she approached us with ego and rudeness, apparently bothered that we were “taking up a table.”
I might’ve understood if it was packed – but it wasn’t. We’d paid to be there, we were spending money, and we weren’t causing any issues. It just felt like a power trip from someone more interested in flexing authority than making guests feel welcome. Absolutely no hospitality or respect shown.
Wouldn’t recommend this place at all. Plenty of better pubs in the area with friendlier staff and less attitude. If anything I would rather go to the Full House 🤣
