About This Pub
Ah, the Oak Apple in Worcester – it's one of those local spots that just feels like a proper community hub, you know? From the moment you step in, there's this relaxed, welcoming vibe that makes you want to settle in for a chat and a pint. They've got the food side sorted with hearty portions and great value deals, like that 30% off mains offer, and the menu has something for everyone, whether you're after pub classics or something lighter. The outdoor garden is a real treat on a sunny day, and it's spot on for families or if you're popping in for some live sports action. On the upside, the drink selection is spot-on too, with plenty of choices to suit any mood. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses – I've heard a few folks mention that service can drag a bit when they're short on staff, and there have been times when the food hasn't quite hit the mark, like overcooked steaks or missing sides that leave you scratching your head. The place could do with a bit of a spruce-up in places to freshen things up. Still, with the new management making positive changes, it seems they're working on those niggles, and overall, it's a solid choice for an affordable night out if you're in the area. I'd say give it a go; it's got that charm that grows on you, warts and all.

Ordered food which took a while as only one young lad serving and he appeared to be relatively new.
Food arrived…ordered steak to be cooked medium, it was so over cooked the bottom was black. It was served thrown in a dish and a few fries on the side. All vegetable accompaniments were missing…peas, mushrooms and tomato. When I finally got the servers attention he apologised and he returned later once half the remaining food had been consumed (dog enjoyed the steak) I did eat the veg as I fast and hadn’t eaten in 30 hours and didn’t have another opportunity to eat for the next 6 hours due to having to go to Bristol.
Mum had hunters chicken which again came without any sides / no side salad as advertised or grilled tomato other than chips and the chicken was rock hard and over cooked.
On the plus side my daughters chicken burger looked lovely and the shandy was cold!
Stayed nearby for 2 days and this was our local pub during that time.
Made welcome, very friendly people, good food, and clean. Ideal for families.
Sky sports on TVs and meal deals everyday.
Will definitely visit again if in the area
Nice pub, we didn't eat as it was too late for kitchen staff (gone 9pm I think) but the bar service was friendly and quick and they have a nice selection of ales and beers. The place is a little run down but perfectly fine. Plenty of parking and easy to find in the roundabout.
Met up with my children and grandchildren who had decided to go for lunch. We weren’t originally going to eat there but the food the rest of the family were eating looked so nice, we decided to order some for ourselves. Had a lovely meal there with my wife while engaging with the rest of the family. The staff were very welcoming and friendly from the bar staff down to Sienna who was bringing the food to the tables. Had live sports for anyone who wanted them. Would recommend to anyone thinking about going.
Went back today and can confirm the new management team have made a real difference to the place.
So much more welcoming and food was great.
Can recommend the house salad with buffalo cauliflower wings, classic burger and chocolate fudge cake.
We had soft drinks.
Will definitely be going back again soon!

Arrived 7:45pm on a Wednesday.
Took a while to be served, only to find the Kitchen was closed - not the first time we have been and found this!
They agreed to provide dessert but our first 2 choices were not available.
Ended up with a Rocky Road Sunday where they had to substitute brownie for blood orange brownie. Also sticky toffee pudding which was very stodgy/pasty.
Will not bother trying to go for food again. Such a shame as used to enjoy going here regularly.
