About This Pub
Ah, the Neston Country Inn, what a lovely little find it is! From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, this place really nails the whole traditional pub experience – you know, that welcoming feel where the hosts go out of their way to make you comfortable, and the food is just brilliant, using fresh, seasonal ingredients that leave you wanting more. I love how it's got a proper rustic charm with options for a pint in the beer garden or catching some sport inside, and if you're popping in with the dog or needing a room for the night, they've got you covered without any fuss. On the flip side, though, do keep an eye on their hours because they close up shop at times like in January, and it might not be the liveliest spot if you're in the mood for a big night – it's more about that chilled, villagey vibe. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed meal or drink, especially if you're nearby Bath, and I'd say it's well worth a visit for anyone after an honest, heartfelt pub experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – think hearty, locally sourced meals like pies and burgers that are packed with flavour and always served piping hot.
-
The hosts are incredibly welcoming and friendly, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's got that classic cosy village pub vibe, with a relaxing atmosphere, a decent beer garden, and even options for watching sports on the telly.
-
They've got comfy rooms if you're staying over, and it's super dog-friendly, which is a bonus for those of us with furry friends.
-
Being tucked away near Bath and the M4, it's a hidden gem that's easy to reach if you're exploring the area.
Cons
-
The operating hours can be a bit tricky, with closures at certain times like in January, so it's worth checking ahead to avoid disappointment.
-
As it's a traditional village spot, it might feel a tad quiet or out of the way if you're after a more bustling night out in the city.

We ate here on Monday. I had the pie, my wife had the burger. Both excellent. Very friendly landlords and some of the locals too
Great village pub serving some cask ales and some deliciously prepared, locally sourced meals. There's also a decent sized beer garden, and they were happy to put some sport on the television for us.
1st time going to this pub to meet up with friends. 1st interaction was very nice landlady, friendly and welcoming. Ordered my drink and was asked if I wanted to open a tab. I agreed as I was meeting friends. Football on the tv (muted), no loud music, good company and atmosphere was relaxing. Paid tab with no pressure to do so throughout the evening. Liked this show of trust. Will def be returning in the future

A lovely traditional village pub. The food was so tasty… I recommend the Fish finger burger which was light and crispy, as were the chips. The Hallloumi burger was tasty with a really nice sauce. All the food was piping hot. Great value. If we’re ever in the area again we will definitely come back!
