About This Pub

You know, I've popped into the Nags Head a few times, and it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local gem in Crosby, not far from Liverpool's hustle. The food's a real highlight – we're talking generous portions of pub favourites that are both delicious and easy on the wallet, whether you're tucking into a mixed grill or treating the little ones to their meal deals. The staff are brilliant, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, which really adds to the warm, welcoming feel. It's especially great for catching the big matches; the atmosphere gets properly buzzing, like when we were there for a Liverpool game – it was electric! On the flip side, though, the toilets and baby facilities have had a few complaints about being a bit neglected, so if you're out with the family, you might want to plan around that. All in all, it's a solid spot for a relaxed evening or a meal with friends, as long as you take the rough with the smooth – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think hearty classics like steak pie, fish and chips, and kids' meals that come with drinks and puds, all at decent prices that won't break the bank.
  • The staff are real gems, always welcoming and going the extra mile; shout out to folks like Mandy and the bar team who make you feel right at home with their smiles and top-notch service.
  • It's got a buzzing atmosphere, especially for watching live sport like the Women's Euros or Liverpool games – perfect for a lively night out with mates.
  • The pub itself is clean and well-presented overall, with handy facilities like WiFi, car parking, and even EV charging, making it a convenient spot for a catch-up.
Cons
  • The toilets and baby changing facilities could do with a good scrub; they've been described as a bit grubby, which might put off families or anyone expecting everything to be pristine.
  • While the food and service shine, it seems like the venue might not always keep up with maintenance in certain areas, so it's worth keeping expectations in check for the finer details.

It's always a brilliant night at the Nags! Lovely food and decent prices too!! Was there last night to watch Liverpool win the Premier League, the atmosphere was buzzing! Have to give a shout out to Mandy who looked after us, she's boss. Nothing is too much trouble and she's always there with a smile and a recommendation from the bar or kitchen. A credit to the Nags!!! Thank you so much!

Havent been in ages and are so glad we visited. Nana had steak pie an chips, I had Fish chips with bread an butter, kids had fish fingers chips meal deal, sausage chips meal deal. Kids meals came with drink an pudding. They loved their brownie an ice cream. All of the food was lovely, hot an very good portion sizes. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The whole bill was less than £35, the 2 adult meals were from the 2 pub classics at £12.49!!!!! We will definitely be visiting again.

Had a large booking for our daughter’s christening yesterday and couldn’t have asked for a smoother experience. Food for 36 people all came out one after the other, food was hot. Staff were great and very helpful. Pub was clean and looked well presented. Thank you so much!

The Nags has been my local for years and I've never had a problem. The staff have always been giving a good service, but this week in particular was great. The food was delicious, and so were the cocktails I had. Louis and Ellie at the bar both gave a warm welcome not long after I came in. They both remembered my earlier drinks order and were quick to make it again. At the table, I was looked after well by Hallie, who was very polite and helped me with choosing a meal from the new menu (I haven't been in a while). All in all a great visit. I would recommend the Nags to anyone. It's a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. The quiz nights are fun too!

Staff are lovely, very welcoming. Food was lovely and a great price. We had the mixed grill, crispy chicken sandwich, the mix it up meal and a side of Nachos. Only complaint is the toilets could do with a good scrub and the baby changing facilities are a bit grubby.
