About This Pub
Ah, Murdos Bar, it's one of those reliable locals in Aberdeen that's been around since the 70s, serving up a warm welcome and a proper community feel in areas like Cornhill and Northfield. From what I've gathered from the reviews and their site, it's got this fantastic service where the team are quick and cheerful, whether you're popping in for a pint or a full meal – think brilliant food that's well-priced and arrives promptly, with options for everything from Sunday roasts to affordable cocktails. They're massive on sports too, screening all the big games on multiple screens, which makes it a go-to for footie fans or anyone up for a bit of karaoke fun. On the flip side, while most folks rave about it, there are a few niggles like some appetisers not packing enough punch in the flavour department, so it might not wow everyone taste-wise. Overall, it's a solid choice for a casual night out; you'd probably have a great time if you're after good value and a friendly buzz, but keep expectations realistic for the odd off dish. I'd say give it a try – it's got that homely charm that makes you want to come back for more.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The service is absolutely spot-on – friendly staff who get your order sorted quickly, making you feel right at home.
-
The food's a real winner, with a solid menu full of options from lunches to dinners, plus great deals that won't break the bank.
-
It's a brilliant spot for catching live sports, with all the major events on Sky and BT Sports, and they've got a lively atmosphere for things like karaoke.
-
Prices are incredibly reasonable, especially on draught beers and lagers, which are some of the best in the area.
-
They've got loads of extras like a beer garden, pool table, and even family-friendly bits such as a children's menu and meal deals.
Cons
-
A couple of dishes, like the appetisers and garlic buns, can come across as a bit bland, so you might want to ask for extra seasoning.
-
The operating hours vary a tad on Sundays, which could be confusing if you're planning a late one.

Can't fault this place at all. Brilliant service and brilliant food.
Staff are nice, served quickly, great karaoke with people doing up beat songs. If lots of you, you can reserve a table, no need otherwise
Haven't been in here in years! Friendly service, delicious food arrived promptly, well worth the money we'll be back! 😋
Went for Christmas eve dinner and drinks for my birthday. Very enjoyable experience. Nice atmosphere.
This is a very good restaurant. We really appreciate your various dishes, especially the grilled chicken wings as an appetizer, which are very delicious. It's just that the appetizer and the garlic buns as a side dish taste a little bland.
