About This Pub

Ah, Molly Malones – it's one of those pubs that really captures the heart of a good night out in Hitchin. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this warm, buzzing energy that's perfect for watching the big match or enjoying live music with friends. The outdoor garden and deck are absolute gems, especially when the weather's on your side, and the pool tables add a fun twist to keep things entertaining. The staff can be brilliant when they're at their best, all friendly and on the ball, which makes you feel welcome straight away. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses – a few folks have mentioned dodgy service that could leave you wishing you'd gone elsewhere, and it's a bit of a letdown that there are no real ales or any food on offer. Still, with an overall rating hovering around 4.3, it's clear that most people have a whale of a time here. If you're heading out for a casual pint and some laughs, it's worth a try, but maybe keep your expectations in check and have a backup plan for eats.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is spot on – it's got that cosy, welcoming vibe that's perfect for catching up with mates over a pint.
  • They've got a cracking outdoor garden and deck, ideal for enjoying a drink in the fresh air, especially on a sunny day.
  • It's a top spot for watching sports or catching live bands, with plenty of energy and excitement in the air.
  • Friendly staff who are quick and attentive when they're on form, making you feel right at home.
  • Fun extras like pool tables keep things lively, giving you something to do while you chat.
Cons
  • Service can be hit or miss; some folks have had a rough time with it, which might put a dampener on your visit.
  • No real ales on tap, so if you're after a traditional pint, you might be disappointed with the drink selection.
  • They don't serve food, which is a shame if you're looking for a bite to go with your beer.
  • With the operating status seeming a bit unclear, it might not always be open when you fancy popping in.

It will for me, forever be remembered as the venue I watched my team lift the Europa league trophy 🏆 Two of the three behind the bar, quick, attentive, professional, friendly. Good atmosphere, nice pub. 🫶👊

Mollies has always been a great pub. Ever since Mary was there and over the years, I've seen a few landlords come and go l! ( but all have been great) Mollies don't do food, but they have a great and amazing outside garden and deck. You can watch most sports and they currently have 2 pool tables to use. Now that winter draws closer, they have fantastic

A friendly pub with a local feel. Seating at the bar, as well as tables and pleasant outside yard. There are no real ales on tap, but there's a selection of draught drinks.
