About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about Caffe Elite – it's one of those unassuming spots in Hitchin that really wins you over once you step inside. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is spot on; people are raving about the omelettes and breakfasts that hit the mark every time, and that coffee is apparently the star of the show, with folks saying it's the best you'll find locally. The team there are just lovely, always going the extra mile to make sure you're happy, and the place itself is so clean and welcoming that it feels like a proper home away from home. On the downside, though, it does wind down early in the afternoon, so if you're planning a longer session or fancy something more evening-oriented, you might need to look elsewhere. Still, for a solid, feel-good stop for breakfast or a coffee catch-up, it's a winner that I'd happily recommend to anyone popping by Hitchin.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely top-notch – think delicious omelettes, hearty breakfasts, and the best coffee in town that keeps you coming back for more.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's spotlessly clean, which adds to that cosy, comfortable vibe that's perfect for a relaxed catch-up.
-
With its convenient location next to Sainsburys in Hitchin, it's an easy spot to pop into for a quick bite or a proper sit-down.
-
The overall atmosphere is warm and homely, with high praise for the quality and care that goes into everything they do.
Cons
-
It tends to close fairly early, around 4-5pm, so it's not the best choice if you're after a late-afternoon or evening hangout.
-
Being more of a cafe than a full-on pub, it might lack that lively drinks-focused scene if you're in the mood for pints and a bit of nightlife.
-
Without a website, it's a bit tricky to check out the menu or details in advance, which could be a minor hassle for planning.

What an absolute little gem!
I shop at Sainsburys next door to the cafe, and have always thought the smells wafting over were lovely, but never had the opportunity to visit.
Well that changed today!
Went for a late breakfast with my wife and really couldn't have been more impressed.
Polite and friendly staff, great service, fantastic food and a real buzz in the air.
My wife had one of the fantastic full breakfasts (so big she couldn't finish it) and I had a ham, cheese and mushroom omelette with all the trimmings, along with a large cup of tea and a bottle of sparkling water - total bill £21.30 which I thought was very reasonable.
The turnaround was quick without being too quick, no pressure to get going.
We'll definitely be back and hopefully on a very regular basis.
Came here today and had the omelette which was served with chips and salad. Best omelette I have tasted and the coffee tastes so good. Staff very friendly and very clean. Highly recommend
Cafe Elite is my go to breakfast location, absolutely amazing. First time trying something other than break fast, sper quality as always :-D
Lovely coffee,. Not tried food yet but looked nice, very busy will definitely be going back!
A great caffe where you feel at home with the most delicious food and the friendliest staff. Cheff Yusuf makes sure the food is to your liking and a very lovely person to speak to. It's also safe to say Caffe Elite has the highest quality of coffee served in town. Keep up the good work! ♡
