About This Pub
Ah, ME Dumigan's Bar – what a gem of a spot in Portaferry! From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got that classic Irish pub charm that's just infectious; you know, the kind where you're chatting away with locals over a pint and suddenly the evening flies by. Most folks rave about the brilliant vibe, with super staff who make you feel welcome and a cracking outdoor area that's perfect for soaking up the sun. The prices are spot on too, so you won't feel like you're splashing out unnecessarily. It's especially great for a bit of entertainment and good old craic, whether you're popping in solo or with a group. But, to be fair, it's not all roses – one reviewer had a rough time getting served when it was heaving, which could put a dampener on things if you're not prepared. Overall, with a solid 4.6 rating, I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're after an authentic, fun night out, just maybe aim for a quieter time to avoid any queues at the bar. What do you reckon, worth checking out?

It can get incredibly busy, especially on sunny weekends, which might mean waiting ages to get served – not ideal if you're parched!

My experience may be untypical but it wasn't good, in that we simply could not get served a drink at all. Albeit the pub was very busy indeed, early evening on a sunny Saturday, with music in the rear garden and pavement tables all full. But the two young bar staff completely ignored us, for 10 minutes, while we stood at the bar trying to get any kind of service. Multiple locals were swiftly served, and I even chatted to one of them, but, nope,we were invisible. Gave up in exasperation in the end, and left.
Big atmosphere in a tiny pub. Don't expect your own table: do expect to talk.
A fabulous little authentic Irish Public House. Warm inside on a freezing day, a couple of hot ports to complete the experience. Rosie was the perfect hostess and the local lads enjoying a pint were good craic, I'll be back again soon.
Brilliant wee bar with fantastic staff, great bar prices and food. A one of a kind sorta place with an eclectic fun vibe. Lovely outside space for a drink at the back too. Different in a good way with fantastic entertainment and friendly atmosphere. Well worth a visit or more. Loved it!
Best craic in a pub for a while. I was on my own and wasn't long before I was taken under the wing of local pros in having a good time. Thank you 👍😁
