About This Pub
Ah, Long John's Showbar on Britannia Pier – it's one of those places that really captures the charm of a seaside outing in Great Yarmouth. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got that welcoming feel with staff who go out of their way to make you comfortable, and the atmosphere can be electric on a good night, especially if you're there for a weekend sesh. The outdoor seating is a clever touch, all sheltered and cosy, so you can still enjoy the fresh sea air without getting soaked. On the flip side, though, it's not all smooth sailing – the drinks might cost a bit more than you'd like, and there are tales of flat beverages or glasses that haven't been cleaned properly, which is a shame when you're looking forward to a refreshing pint. Then there's the toilets, which sound like they need a serious sort-out to avoid any unpleasant surprises. All in all, it's a decent spot for a casual get-together with mates, as long as you keep your expectations in check and maybe plan for busier times to catch that lively crowd. I'd say it's worth popping in if you're in the area, but go prepared for the highs and lows.

-
The atmosphere is fantastic, especially on weekends, with a lively crowd that really gets the energy going.
-
They serve a great pint, like a solid Murphy's, which hits the spot after a day by the sea.
-
The sheltered outdoor seating areas are a brilliant addition, perfect for enjoying the views no matter the weather.
Cons
-
Drinks can be a bit pricey, which is understandable for a spot on the pier but might sting the wallet.
-
The toilets are pretty grim – smelly and not well-maintained, which can put a damper on things.
-
There have been issues with glass hygiene, like finding lipstick stains or flat drinks, which isn't ideal.
-
The place can be surprisingly quiet at times, making it feel a bit dead when you're hoping for some buzz.

Great place for a night out. Friendly and welcoming staff. Nice atmosphere. Great pint of murphy's
Place is massive came in for fa cup final place was dead! Beer is pricey but expected it for location. Some seats out the front if you fancy sitting in the sun or freezing your bits off, lol. Toilets are horrible. My eyes were streaming soon as I walked in with the smell of piss!
Been a couple of times now as we were on the pier enjoying the arcades and rides. On both occasions we have been served with lipstick staines still on the glasses. White wine and lemonade were ordered, but they were both completely flat. Took them back and didn’t want a second.
It was quiet, but the music was decent. Can imagine it being busy in the summer.
Fantastic bar, great atmosphere and warm friendly staff. They have recently built a row of wood and glass, sheltered seating bays along the pier. Great for sitting outside whatever the weather.
