About This Pub

You know, when I popped into Little Oak in Chester, it really hit the spot as a classic pub that's deeply rooted in the community. The staff are just lovely, always ready with a smile and a chat, which makes the place feel warm and inviting right from the off. I loved how affordable everything is – you can grab a great pint without worrying about the cost, and there's a decent range of beers to choose from. It's spot on for watching the footie or any sport, with loads of TVs around, and the outdoor area is fantastic, especially with those heaters making it cosy even on chillier evenings. Plus, if you're out with your dog, they'll sort you out with water and a blanket, which is such a thoughtful gesture. On the flip side, it does wind down by 11 PM, so it's not the place for all-nighters, and the food options stick to straightforward pub grub, which might not excite if you're craving something a bit more fancy. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening with mates, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area – the positive buzz from folks who've been there speaks volumes.

Pros and Cons

  • It's a brilliant spot for sports fans, with multiple TVs showing Sky Sports and a lively atmosphere during matches.
  • The outdoor seating area is a real gem – spacious, heated, and comfortable, ideal for enjoying a pint in the fresh air.
  • They're wonderfully dog-friendly, offering extras like water and blankets, which adds a nice touch for those with furry companions.
  • It has a traditional pub vibe with fun activities like pool and darts, making it easy to settle in for a good time.
Cons

This place is great, a traditional boozer, friendly staff, not expensive and a large, external seating area at the neck that is comfortable and heated.

The staff are wonderful, we had our little dog with us and they kindly gave us some water for him and a blanket. They even opened one of their lovely beach hut style booths with tv and heater!! Great prices and great atmosphere, needless to say that the drinks are also great 👍
