About This Pub

Ah, the Lady Bay – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in West Bridgford. I have to say, what really stands out is how the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome; they're chatty and helpful, which sets a lovely tone right from the off. The food's a winner too – think affordable classics that satisfy without breaking the bank, whether you're tucking into a sharer or something hearty. And for us sports enthusiasts, it's brilliant; they've got these massive screens for all the big matches, like the Women's Euros or the Lions tour, so you can cheer on your team in comfort. The beer garden's a nice touch on a sunny day, and little extras like EV charging and a pool table add to the fun. On the downside, though, parking can be a right faff if it's packed, and being a Greene King spot, it does have that chain feel – nothing wildly original on the menu, you know? Plus, it tends to call last orders a bit early for some tastes. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening; you'll leave with a smile, but it might not blow your socks off if you're seeking something more bespoke.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly, always greeting you with a big smile and making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • The food is spot on – reasonably priced, tasty options that hit the spot, especially for a quick bite or sharing platters.
  • It's a fantastic spot for sports fans, with massive screens showing live events like the Euros or rugby tours, and plenty of comfortable seating to enjoy the action.
  • They've got a great selection of beers, ciders, and wines, plus handy facilities like a beer garden, EV charging, and even a pool table for some fun.
  • The atmosphere is lively and cosy, perfect for a casual catch-up or watching the game, and it's kept nice and clean throughout.
Cons
  • Parking can be a bit tricky at times, with spaces sometimes limited, especially when it's busy or during big events.
  • As a chain pub, it might feel a tad standard and lacking in unique touches compared to more independent spots, so if you're after something truly one-of-a-kind, it could disappoint.
  • The closing times are fairly early on most days, wrapping up around 11pm, which might not suit late-night outings or those wanting to linger longer.

We were recommended here by Mr Singh at Singh Pharmacy after an amazing cryotherapy session. As soon as we walked in I was pleasantly greeted by the huge smile of Heidi. She made us feel very welcome and helped us out with the menu. Which by the way was very reasonably priced, especially there two meals for £15!! We sat in the sun and enjoyed our burgers before heading back to Singh pharmacy for a vitamin IV drip.

Fantastic boozer, massive screen outside, loads of comfortable seating and great grub and even better beer. Greene King IPA let me forget about my diabetes. Watched Ireland beat W.Indies easily, sat outside in the sun. Stayed for the evening to watch SpursvUtd in Europa final. Yeah we beat them 1- 0 and I loved it.

Pub is a Greene King, in a really nice area of Nottingham. Food is good for the chain but the atmosphere, staff and layout is really good. Great selection of beers, ciders and wines with good allergen (GF) knowledge. Inside there are bar games, darts and a pool table. Carpark has 2x EV chargers too and loads of parking, kids playground their too.. Definitely recommend if passing!

Didn't even know this place insisted. Just been to Forest shop and needed to have something to eat. Googled, pubs near me and this pub came up. Inside lovely and clean, not busy today lady behind bar was very welcoming and nice. Didn't have to wait long for our food. Tex sharer and cheese, bacon burger. All of the food was so delicious. Definitely visit again if in the area. Thank you!!

Close to the city centre and easy to find parking nearby, though spaces can be limited. My fourth visit. Never disappoints. The interior is warm, cosy, and well-renovated, with big TVs. The food quality is consistently good, and the prices are very reasonable, especially for West Bridgford. Highly recommend.
