About This Pub
Ah, La Mezzaluna – it's one of those spots in Carlisle that really captures the essence of Italian dining, isn't it? From what I've gathered, the food is spot on, with fresh, quality ingredients turning out dishes that leave you wanting more, like a proper homemade Italian feast. The staff are an absolute delight, always on hand with a smile and that extra touch of care that makes the whole experience feel personal and welcoming. Plus, the atmosphere is just lovely, with those vibrant murals and Italian tunes setting a cheerful scene that's perfect for a casual get-together or a special occasion. Prices are fair too, so you can enjoy a proper meal without it costing a fortune. On the flip side, though, it does get a bit lively and loud in such a compact space, which might not suit if you're after a peaceful chat over dinner. And while most rave about the grub, a few have said it's solidly good rather than groundbreaking, so it might depend on what you're in the mood for. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone fancying a taste of Italy right here in Cumbria – I'd say give it a go, especially if you book ahead to snag a table.

Some dishes are tasty but not always mind-blowing – they're good, mind you, but perhaps not extraordinary for everyone.

Had a beautiful meal last night. Food was amazing staff were accommodating and friendly. will definitely return
Lovely atmosphere, the food is absolutely beautiful and reasonable pricing really surprised me. Will definitely be back!
We dined here to celebrate our wedding anniversary during a recent break in Carlisle. We didn’t book a table in advance, but we were made very welcome and quickly seated. The food, wine and service were fantastic, we would highly recommend this restaurant and would not hesitate to return when back in the area.
Myself and my partner had a lovely first time experience. Our 3 course meal was delicious from top to bottom. The service was great, and we were made to feel very welcome by the staff. Also even with a pretty busy service nothing took long to reach our table.
Friendly and attentive staff, food was good and tasty but didn't blow my socks off. My wife's steak however was apparently gorgeous. Would happily go again, next time I'll maybe try the steak 😄🥩.
The atmosphere was loud when full, but it's a small contained space, if you're harder of hearing you may not enjoy it as much as peak times. Should also good for those with slight mobility issues, there is one small step towards the back of the restaurant towards the toilets.
