About This Pub

Ah, the King & Queen in Warrington – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered, the staff are an absolute delight, always on hand with a warm smile and that extra effort to make your visit memorable, whether it's pouring a perfect pint or sorting out a table for the match. They've got a brilliant lineup of beers and you can settle in for some top-notch sports viewing on the big screens, which is brilliant if you're into your footie or F1. The food's a real highlight too, with fresh pizzas and wallet-friendly deals like pie and pint that hit the spot after a long day. Plus, there are always events like darts or dominoes nights to dive into, adding to that cosy, community feel that makes it such a fun place to unwind. On the flip side, it's got that straightforward, old-school charm, which means it might not wow you with fancy decor or extras if you're in the mood for something a bit more polished. Still, it's honest and reliable, and from the buzz around it, most folks leave with a smile – I'd say it's well worth popping in for a chat and a drink, as long as you keep things simple and enjoy the good company.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant, always going above and beyond to make sure everyone feels welcome and has a great time.
  • A cracking selection of beers on tap and live sports like Sky and TNT in HD, perfect for catching the game with mates.
  • Tasty food options, especially the pizzas and deals like pie and pint, which are fresh and won't empty your wallet.
  • A lively atmosphere with fun events such as darts and dominoes nights, keeping things entertaining and social.
Cons
  • It has a no-frills, traditional vibe that might feel a bit basic if you're after something more modern or upscale.
  • Opening hours can vary, with earlier closes on some days, so it's worth checking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Great local, lots of sport available, great choice of drinks and the pizzas are tasty! New owner who's kept the place as close to the last one as possible so business as usual.

Came here last night at about 10.30. The Pub was pretty crowded and everyone seemed to be having a good time Formula 1 on the TV and the boys were very happy. As a previous reviewer said - "a no nonsense old - fashioned British Pub". I think we used to call it spit and sawdust. Well worth a visit, if you want to see what pubs we're like 50 years ago and/or want to drink until later than usual.
