About This Pub
Ah, the King George V in Ilford – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local hideaway, especially after its recent spruce-up. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are a real highlight; they're friendly, efficient, and make the whole experience feel warm and inviting, like chatting with old pals over a round. The prices are bang on too – you can grab a decent meal or a few drinks without it costing a fortune, which is always a win for a laid-back evening. Plus, with live sports on the telly and a beer garden for sunnier days, it's spot on if you're looking to unwind after a stroll in the nearby parks. On the flip side, it did have a bit of a dodgy past, so some folks might still have reservations, and the food, while reliable, doesn't venture far from classic pub grub, so it won't wow you with anything groundbreaking. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed get-together; I'd say give it a go if you're in the area – you might just find it becomes your new regular spot.

-
It's family-friendly with handy amenities such as a beer garden, live sports, and even dog-friendly spaces for a relaxed day out.
Cons
-
It had a bit of a rough reputation in the past, though it's clearly improved a lot under the new management.

Decent pub in the local area. Sunday roast was decent, would definitely go back. Decent size pub and was not too busy that it became uncomfortable.
Lovely Staff, friendly and the customers are friendly too. Bar staff is serving in a clean manner. Me and my friends spent 1hour there but it felt like a Minute. Prices are affordable!
Decent local public house, food is always of a good standard and a strong selection of drinks to keep you going. Recent refurb also which adds the atmosphere generally.
We just celebrated my son's 18th Bday here. We been living in this neighbourhood for over a decade and we never visited the pub as it had a bad reputation but since new management took over and the pub been refurbished it looks truly amazing.
Great food menu. Great affordable variety of drinks.
The service is impeccable and very friendly staff. My husband is a wheelchair user, the pub has wheelchair access but you got to put the foldable ramp down yourself what didn't bother us as we do that daily at home anyway.
Overall a 5* pub very clean and tidy... And they do karaoke on Thursdays aswell.
A place I highly recommend.
They’ve done an amazing job on the refurb, one of the decent places in Ilford left now where it’s got friendly staff and has a nice atmosphere. Grabbed a nice little lunch with the better half and will Definately go again.
PS this place has Become our regular for lunches 😍
