About This Pub

Ah, the Keg and Cask – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a hidden gem if you're passing through Hounslow. I have to say, the staff really make the place; they're so attentive and quick to serve, which always puts a smile on your face after a long day. The drinks are spot on too, with a solid range of beers served at the perfect temperature and some cracking deals that won't break the bank. Then there's the food – oh, the Indo-Chinese dishes are an absolute treat, consistently tasty and great value, especially with those new combos they've got going. The atmosphere is another winner, with pool tables, sports flickering on the screens, and loads of space to kick back in those comfy, nostalgic seats. It's right by the tube, which is handy for a quick stop, and they've even sorted out a smoking garden for smokers. But, on the flip side, the surrounding area can be a tad rough, so you might want to keep an eye out. Prices are moderate, but they're not the bargain basement options in town, and with the overall rating sitting at 3.9, it seems like there might be the odd off day that doesn't show up in the rave reviews. Still, if you're in the mood for a proper pub experience with good grub and a relaxed crowd, it's well worth checking out – just go with your mates and make an evening of it!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The service is super friendly and prompt, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • They've got a great selection of drinks, including pints at really good prices and an impressive variety on tap.
  • The atmosphere is spot on with pool tables, sports on the screens, and plenty of space to relax – it's like stepping back to an 80s or 90s vibe with comfy seats and a well-kept interior.
  • The food is a real highlight, especially the Indo-Chinese options, which are consistent, delicious, and offer great value with new combo deals.
  • It's conveniently located opposite Hounslow West tube station, and there's a smoking garden for those who need it.
Cons
  • The area around the pub can feel a bit sketchy, which might put some people off venturing in.
  • Drinks aren't the cheapest compared to other local spots, so it might not be the best for those watching their wallet.
  • With no recent reviews and an overall rating of 3.9, it suggests there might be some inconsistencies that aren't fully captured in the positive feedback we've seen.
  • No website means it's trickier to check menus or events in advance, which could be a hassle for planning a visit.

Nipped in while waiting for a bus. Very friendly and prompt service, decent pint at a great price. Pool tables, sport on screens, and lots of space. Clearly a pub that's run with attention to detail, despite a sketchy area. (I’d been in less than 5 minutes and a dodgy character wandered in selling stolen meat, which was swiftly dealt with). With hospitality struggling, this is a place that is making lots of effort and deserves to thrive. Better than any Spoons.

Opposite Hounslow West tube station. Popped in as I had a spare half hour. Great find. Like an 80s 90s style bar, comfy seats, carpet; well looked after. Good range of drinks available; smoking garden. Staff pleasant. Well worth a try if you are in the area.
