About This Pub

Ah, Jeremiah's Taproom – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Edinburgh, tucked away on Elm Row. From what I've gathered from folks' chats online, the staff are the real stars here; they're not just serving drinks, they're making sure everyone has a good time, whether you're popping in solo or with a big group. The beer selection is spot on, with plenty of choices to keep things interesting, and the cosy decor with that unique round bar gives it a warm, welcoming feel that's perfect for unwinding after a day out. It's also great for watching sports or bringing your dog along, which adds to the charm. On the flip side, it does get bustling at times, so you might end up standing if you don't time it right, and the food menu is pretty straightforward – think solid pub fare, but not a huge variety if you're in the mood for something more adventurous. All in all, it's a solid choice for a pint and a laugh, especially if you're after that friendly, down-to-earth pub experience without any fuss.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly, polite, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, which really adds to the vibe.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of beers on tap, perfect if you're after something special to sip on.
  • The atmosphere is spot on; that cool round bar and cosy, dark decor make it a proper inviting spot for a chat or watching the rugby.
  • It's dog-friendly, which is a lovely touch if you're out with your furry mate.
  • The food hits the mark with simple pub grub like that chilli beef topped mac n' cheese – nothing fancy, but tasty and satisfying.
Cons
  • It can get pretty busy, especially in popular areas like near Leith Walk, so you might have to hunt for a seat at peak times.
  • The menu's a bit on the small side, so if you're after a wide range of options, it might feel a tad limited.

We came in on a Saturday evening with a big group and the staff was excellent. Every single member of staff was not only polite but happy and friendly and went above and beyond. We were very impressed.

This is a hidden gem near the top of Leith Walk and not far from the Playhouse. Was here for lunch. There's a great selection of beers and a small menu of typical pub grub and several "Margarita Month" cocktails. The decor is dark and cozy and features various artworks and historic posters relating to concerts and plays in Edinburgh. There's also an interactive jukebox. Staff are super friendly and service was great 😃 Would recommend a visit.
