About This Pub

Oh, Jays Bistro is one of those hidden gems in Bebington that really warms the cockles of your heart – imagine popping in for a proper fry-up or a simple cup of tea and feeling like you're catching up with old mates. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are just lovely, always going the extra mile to make sure everything's spot on, whether it's a quick coffee or a full meal. The food itself is a winner; think tasty bacon sarnies, smashing avocado on toast, or their build-your-own breakfast that lets you tailor it just right – and at prices that won't break the bank, it's a real treat. The atmosphere is spot on too, with nice decor that makes it feel cosy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed catch-up. But, on the flip side, it's mostly geared towards mornings and early afternoons, so if you're fancying a bite later in the day, you might be out of luck. Plus, being a smaller place, the menu sticks to breakfast vibes, which is brilliant if that's your thing, but could leave you wanting more if you're after variety. All in all, it's a solid choice for us lot who appreciate a good, honest spot – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as the positives far outweigh the little niggles.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The service is absolutely top-notch – friendly staff who make you feel right at home, just like chatting with the owner over a cuppa.
  • The food is spot on, with delicious breakfast options like their full English or fresh wraps that leave you satisfied and smiling.
  • It's got a warm and inviting atmosphere, with lovely decor and a cosy vibe that's perfect for a relaxed morning out.
  • Great value for money, as the menu offers reasonably priced items that don't skimp on quality or portion size.
  • Consistently high ratings from fellow visitors, showing it's a reliable choice for a proper brekkie in Bebington.
Cons
  • Operating hours are a bit limited, typically wrapping up by early afternoon, so it's not ideal if you're after an evening meal.
  • The focus is mainly on breakfast and light bites, which might not suit if you're in the mood for something more varied like dinner options.
  • As a smaller local spot, it could get busy during peak times, and you might have to wait if you pop in without checking ahead.

What a lovely place, I was waiting on my phone to be fixed and needed to kill time. Didn't mind me hanging out over a few cups of tea. Lovely lady owner was great company, I didn't eat but the menu looks great, so reasonably priced. Lovely big cups of tea, in a lovely setting. I'll be popping in again. Thank you 😊

Jay's Bistro has become my regular local café over the last few years. The food is always good, and I've had some wonderful meals there. Everyone at Jay's are really friendly and they obviously care about their customers. It's a really warm and friendly environment and they have always catered for my awkward dietary needs. They are dog friendly so make a nice place to pop in during a dog walk. During the warmer months (or the colder months if you're hardy) there is a lovely outdoor area at the back. There's a really positive community feel to this café and I fully recommend it.

What a lovely find in Bebington. The decor in the bistro is beautiful with hanging lanterns....beautiful art and a budha outside. Such a friendly and ultra clean bistro. We had afternoon tea for three which included 2 cups of coffee.....wraps, sandwiches...the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. All ingredients were fresh and tasty. Then on to the cakes. Chocolate éclairs, mango cheesecake, home made fruit scones with cream and jam and Victoria sponge. All for £13.00. Highly recommended can't wait to back. Owner is lovely and staff friendly. 20 out of ten!! Kath
