About This Pub
Ah, The Cleveland Arms – it's one of those hidden gems that just hits the spot when you're in the mood for a proper pub experience. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff are an absolute delight, always ready with a smile and a bit of banter, which really makes the place feel like a second home. The beer selection is spot on, with a great range of real ales that taste fantastic and won't set you back too much, and it's brilliant that they've kept things dog-friendly for those of us who like to bring the family along, furry members included. The cosy log fire and a recently spruced-up interior add to that traditional charm, paired with a jukebox for some tunes to liven up the evening. On the flip side, it's a shame there's no website to easily check out what's on offer or the full schedule, so you might have to rely on a quick visit or word of mouth. And being on the smaller side, it can fill up nicely, which is great for atmosphere but might feel a tad cramped if you're not keen on crowds. All in all, it's a cracking spot for a relaxed pint or catch-up, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're exploring the area – just go with an open mind and you'll likely leave with a smile.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely lovely and always up for a chat, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of real ales and beers at reasonable prices – perfect if you're after a proper pint without breaking the bank.
-
It's got that cosy, traditional pub vibe with a log fire and a great jukebox, plus it's recently been decorated to keep things fresh and inviting.
-
Being dog-friendly is a real bonus; you can bring your four-legged mate along for a relaxed afternoon or evening.
-
The atmosphere is just spot on – no nonsense, no distractions like Sky Sports, just good people and a welcoming space to enjoy yourself.
Cons
-
There's no website listed, so it might be a bit tricky to get the latest updates or check out menus without heading over in person.
-
As a smaller pub, it could get quite snug on busier nights, which might not suit everyone if you're after more space to spread out.

Proper pub with proper people. No sky sports, no knobheads. Lovely staff and great beer. If you love real ale you’ve come to the right place, reasonable prices and dog friendly too. Love this little pub. ❤️🍺
Great little pub . Good selection of beers including real ales. Staff amazing. Would highly recommend.
Ace pub and recently been decorated, give it a go. Fantastic choice of beers and a great juke box
What a find. Popped in before a 18th we were going to. Great selection of beers which tasted great. Had the trappers hat and the beachcomber. Log fire as well for a cosy feel to the pub. Had a nice chat with the landlady Ann telling us the history of the pub. Will defo be back in the summer to try the beer garden in the sun.
In the words of The late Frank Carson......It's a cracker!
Great beers, a very warm & friendly welcome from all who are behind the bar. Real ale. A 'proper' pub!
