About This Pub

Ah, Jackalope – it's one of those places that just warms your heart from the moment you step in. Tucked away on School Lane in Sale, this spot really shines with its commitment to using the best local suppliers, like Isabelita Bakes for those irresistible pastries and Kick Back Coffee for brews that are freshly ground and full of flavour. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the food is a real highlight – think mouthwatering eggs Benedict, pistachio cream French toast, and even some cracking vegan options that stand out in a crowd. The staff get a big thumbs up too; they're attentive and make you feel right at home, which adds to that cosy, inviting atmosphere that's perfect for a lazy weekend catch-up. On the flip side, it's not all perfect – there have been a few mentions of inconsistencies, like eggs not being as runny as expected, and it does lean heavily towards daytime dining, so if you're after a proper evening pint, you might need to look elsewhere. Still, with such high praise overall, it's a gem for anyone in the area looking for a solid brunch that won't disappoint, and I'd say it's well worth popping in for a coffee and a chat.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely top-notch, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients that make every bite feel special – think delicious baked goods from Isabelita Bakes and perfectly roasted coffee from Kick Back Coffee.
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always making you feel welcome, like that lovely service from Maria that folks rave about.
  • It's got a cosy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed brunch in Sale, with a great selection of dishes that cater to different tastes, including vegan options like their smoky hummus sandwich.
  • Portion sizes are generous and the flavours are well-balanced, with highlights like eggs Benedict and truffle fries that leave you wanting more.
Cons
  • There might be the odd slip-up with food preparation, such as eggs not being as runny as you'd hope, which could disappoint if you're after that perfect brunch experience.
  • As a brunch spot, it's more daytime-focused, so if you're looking for evening vibes or a full pub crawl, it might not quite hit the mark.
  • It can get a bit bustling, which is great for energy but might mean waits for your coffee or a table on busier days.

Cute bustling little cafe in Sale centre. Brought my dad and we were greeted by a very friendly staff member who gave us menus. We ordered coffees and they came quickly. Coffees were delicious, with some great foam art! They had a fresh cake selection in gussy too which looked great Didn’t get any food on this visit but defo fancied the menu and will be back!

Incredible food, coolest coffee art and lovely team ☕️ Popped in today to try their brunch, we had the eggs benedict and pistachio cream french toast. Both dishes were incredible and this has to be hands down the best breakfast & brunch spot I’ve been to in a long time ☺️ Definitely worth getting a coffee as well just to appreciate the funky coffee art, it’s absolutely brilliant

Nice brunch. Nice location in the main Sale street. With nice space inside and tables outside (only drinks outside). Steak Hash and Egg Benedict Pull-pork were really good. Steak Hash probably one of the best brunch I ever had. Only issue was our eggs were not runny. The place is new so I guess it will improve step by step.
