I've got to say, the first thing that struck me was their brilliant selection of beers and ales; it's like a passport to flavours from around the world, and they keep it seasonal so there's always something new to try. The events they put on, like comedy gigs and quiz nights, add such a buzz to the place – it's clear they're making an effort to stand out and keep things entertaining. The staff are usually spot on too, friendly and attentive, which makes for a really relaxed atmosphere, especially with the comfy seating and tidy setup. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses; there have been a few tales of staff or bouncers not handling things as well as they could, with some feeling discriminated against or worried about underage issues. Still, on the whole, it's a place I'd happily recommend for a good catch-up over drinks, as long as you go in with your eyes open to the occasional hiccup. Give it a go if you're in the area – you might just have a cracking time!

Been here a few times for a drink or comedy gig. Great bar, I like how the owners always put events on to draw people in and make Hoptons stand out in longton. Also they have Rivington and Chain House beers which helps
Great place to come for drinks, never tried the food though so can't comment. Plenty of comfortable seating and clean facilities. Has a few tables outside too. The staff have always been friendly and the service is good. Recommend venue !
Awful place. The staff / owner and bouncers discrimate against people. When confronted come out with the worst excuses ever. Under age people in and they aren't bothered when they are made aware. Alot better places than here. This place needs shutting down. Talk down to you like they own the place. After a few visits in the local pubs they all said the same. The amount of people that say the same is crazy so obviously not a 1 off occassion
First visit today. Great beer menu and very friendly welcome from the barman who gave me a couple of samplers whilst I made my mind up. We'll be back
We've been to Hopton's Bar a few times now, and it's a great place. The decor and atmosphere are brilliant, and it's clear the owners Tom and Sam put a lot of work in to make it this way. They're really nice guys and take a very much hands-on approach with their business.
They get different quality food traders for weekends regularly, so you can spend the full afternoon and evening there.
There's a good range of drinks, and they're reasonably priced too.
They also allow groups to book out part of the space for private parties, but still have plenty of room for regulars.
Highly recommend!
