About This Pub
Ah, The Black Bull – it's one of those classic village pubs that really captures the essence of a good local spot near Preston. From the reviews I've seen, most folks absolutely love the welcoming atmosphere; the staff often go out of their way to make you feel at ease, and there's a cracking choice of drinks to suit all tastes, whether you're after a smooth ale or something a bit more premium. The entertainment side is spot on too – think pool, darts, and big screens showing the latest sports, with regular events like quiz nights adding to the fun. It's dog-friendly and has lovely outdoor areas for sunnier days, which makes it ideal for a relaxed get-together with mates. On the downside, it's a real shame there's no food available, so you might end up heading elsewhere if hunger strikes, and it can be a bit subdued on quieter evenings or Mondays. Plus, while the age divide in the pub seems to work for regulars, it might not be everyone's cup of tea if you're looking for a more mixed crowd. All in all, it's a solid pick for drink enthusiasts who enjoy a bit of banter and games, but keep in mind it shines brightest when it's buzzing with energy.

No food available - very quiet on a Monday evening. Friendly service , good choice of drinks.
A really nice pub! Martha made us feel really welcome and all staff were super friendly. Enjoyed playing pool and our time there. Will certainly be back!
Excellent pub with something for everyone, great atmosphere, indoor and covered/uncovered outdoor seating areas, pool tables, darts & sports on the TVs. Always plenty of staff on so no waiting to be served and excellent drinks. Best pub in the village 👍🏻
It's a traditional country pub but with a clear age divide whereby the young tend to be around the pool table area at the back and the 'experienced' have the front of the pub!
Sounds strange but it works well. And the Guinness is always 100%, which is a good indication of a well run bar, for my reckoning...
Nice country pub, good beer(Lees), cheep food, but unfriendly, unhelpful staff.
