Hogarths in Ilkeston

You know, I reckon Hogarths in Ilkeston is one of those pubs that really stands out in a good way – it's got this fabulous Victorian gin palace vibe with stunning chandeliers and intricate details that make every visit feel a bit special. They've nailed the drinks menu, offering over 120 gins alongside real ales and cocktails, all served up with care to highlight those unique flavours, which is brilliant if you're a gin enthusiast like me. The staff are generally lovely and create a friendly, community-oriented atmosphere that's perfect for catching up with mates or enjoying live music. It's open most of the day and has a nice beer garden for when the weather's on your side. On the downside, though, some drinks do come across as a tad expensive, and there have been times when the service wasn't quite as attentive, like tables left uncleared or staff chatting away instead of helping out. Still, with a solid 4.2 rating from folks who've been there, it's worth a go if you're in the area – just keep expectations balanced and you'll likely have a cracking time.
