About This Pub

Ah, Hidden Gem Pub – what a lovely little find in Cleethorpes! From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this inviting, rustic feel that's perfect for a relaxed pint or a bite to eat after something like a yoga session. The food stands out as a real winner; folks are raving about the Jamaican curry, with its spot-on spice levels and generous servings that could feed an army. And the service? It's heartwarming – the team there seems genuinely chuffed to have you, offering that extra help whether you're hiring the room for a birthday do or just chatting over a beer. It's especially handy for groups, as it's got a separate area that's just right for 30 to 40 people without feeling cramped. On the flip side, though, it's a shame about the lack of online presence; no website means you're left guessing on opening times, and with no reviews in the recent months, it might not be as lively as it could be. Still, if you're up for a proper local experience that's a bit of a hidden treasure, I'd say give it a go – just check it's open first, eh? Overall, it's got that community spirit that makes you want to come back, balanced with a few rough edges that keep it real.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think delicious Jamaican curry with perfectly spiced chicken and massive portions that leave you stuffed and satisfied.
  • Service is top-notch; the staff are friendly, helpful, and really go the extra mile, making you feel right at home.
  • It's brilliant for groups or special occasions, with a cosy hired room that's just the ticket for up to 40 folks, as one reviewer raved about a birthday bash.
  • The atmosphere is welcoming and full of character – great for a pint and some banter with the locals, especially if you're popping in before an event like the football.
  • They've got a decent selection of beers, like that pint of Luda Stingray that's been highly praised.
Cons
  • There's not much info online – no website or clear operating hours, which makes it a bit of a faff to plan a visit.
  • The business seems unclaimed and possibly not as active lately, with no recent reviews in the last few months, so it might be hit or miss if it's open.
  • With only 41 reviews in total, it's still flying under the radar, which could mean it's not the most buzzing spot just yet.
  • One reviewer mentioned it's a bit rustic and like Marmite – you might love the homely vibe or find it a tad too no-frills for your taste.

Booked for a few of us after a Yoga session for the Jamaican curry. I had the chicken, which was fantastic and the level of spice was perfect. Everyone else said there’s was great, and the portions take a valiant effort. Great service, all round very impressed.

Great little place for a beer before the football! We had travelled over from Wrexham and popped in for a pint. Friendly staff, good banter with locals and a great pint of Luda Stingray. Highly recommended.

Had a Birthday party here for my daughter...hired room is adjacent to the bar and ideal for around 30-40 people. Owner/manager couldn't do enough to help and went above and beyond to be helpful. Other staff we met were all friendly, a really nice experience that my daughter and her guests all really enjoyed. The bar and room have a laid back atmosphere, somewhere to go for quiet drinks or on a date. There's also a dartboard, pool table (paid by time not the game), large t.v and outside seating area. A really nice place with lovely staff 😊
