About This Pub

Ah, Guiseley Factory Workers Club – it's one of those hidden gems in Leeds that feels like a step back in time with its rich history from the early 20th century, but with some modern touches that keep things fresh. I've got to say, the real ales are an absolute highlight; they're passionate about it here, with a rotating selection that always has something interesting on offer, including those dark beers that hit the spot on a chilly evening. The events are another winner – imagine belting out tunes at an Elvis night or watching the match on that enormous HD screen; it's proper engaging and brings everyone together. On the flip side, though, there have been a few grumbles about the bar staff not always nailing the drinks orders, which might leave you scratching your head if you're after a precise cocktail. Still, it's a welcoming place overall, with options to hire rooms for your own gatherings, and while it has that traditional club feel, it's worth popping in if you're in the area – just keep in mind it might suit the more laid-back crowd looking for good beer and a chat rather than a fancy night out.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The real ale selection is top-notch, with a variety of guests on tap and even a pump dedicated to dark beers – perfect for ale enthusiasts like us.
  • They host some brilliant events, like the Elvis tribute nights, which sound like a blast and really get the atmosphere buzzing.
  • The club has a welcoming traditional vibe with a fresh makeover, including comfy seating and a massive 150-inch HD screen that's ideal for catching the footy or other live events.
  • It's got a rich history over a hundred years old, which adds a lovely character, and members can hire the concert room for private dos at a reasonable price.
Cons
  • Some bar staff aren't quite up to speed with drinks orders, like mixing up vodkas and juices, which could put a dampener on your night if you're after something specific.
  • As a members' club, it might feel a bit exclusive if you're not already a member, and getting in could take a bit of effort.
  • The opening hours start a tad late on weekdays, from 1pm, so it's not the best for a quick morning pint or early lunch.

Wow! The 150 inch HD screen is awesome. I'm not really a football fan but watching Leeds play on the massive screen was an amazing experience. And the Black sheep bitter was magic.

Was a lovely event except the barstaff were not really clued up on drinks orders, ask from vodka and orange and get Britvic orange, ask for vodka with Britvic and get squash with water added to the glass. Go figure that one out
