About This Pub
Ah, the Greyhound in Kensington – it's one of those pubs that really pulls you in with its historic charm and welcoming feel, like popping round to a mate's for a casual get-together. I've heard from folks that the atmosphere is just brilliant, with lively music and a buzz that's perfect for watching the footie or enjoying the Women's Euros on the big screen. The food often gets rave reviews; think delicious fish and chips or a steak sandwich that hits the spot after a long day. And the staff? They're top-notch, always ready with a smile and speedy service that makes you feel right at home. On the flip side, it's not all perfect – there was that one tale of a dodgy meal that sounded pretty underwhelming, with microwaved bits and even mouldy tomatoes, which is a shame when the rest seems so promising. Still, with an overall solid rating, I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area, just maybe keep your expectations in check and go for the classics. All in all, it's a gem for a relaxed evening out, but like any pub, it has its ups and downs.

The greyhound pub, Kensington’s Square
BBQ chicken - thought it was a chicken leg at first - microwaved in a bowl with what looked like microwaved bacon covered in a tasteless cheese and BBQ sauce - microwaved plumb tomatoes half of which were mouldy- needless to say no crispy onions as described on the menu - to add insult to injury- no loo roll in the gents toilets! Which I definitely needed! Had to cut my stay short - worst food I have had in London - infact worst food I have had anywhere - treat the menu with a very big pinch of salt - and bring you own bog roll - gents toilets are disgusing by the way - good luck
The place to go! Had the best fish and chips! Great atmosphere, loved the music, very fast service! We had the best time ever!
Laura and the team are the best!
We will definitely be back!
Amazing pub, with a great atmosphere and good selection of food and drinks. The food was delicious - I had the steak sandwich which did not disappoint. The pub had a lovely vibe, nice music, and the staff are great - they are warm and welcoming from the minute I arrived. Can’t wait to return soon!
Had a lovely visit to the Greyhound this weekend. Great atmosphere, good music, and amazing lovely vibe. Food was delicious - especially the steak and ale pie and fish and chips 😋 They have a great selection of beers, wines, and spirits. The staff were super welcoming and made the experience one to remember. Will definitely be returning!
Update:
We decided to visit the pub again and really glad we did. The gammon steak and 8 oz. sirloin were superb. I would recommend these if you wish to try the classics. It wasn't busy at the time of our visit and staff gave us an overview of the Greene King brand. The place was clean and the ambience was relaxed. It was a pleasant experience, very many thanks to the team (huge credit to the chef for the fantastic meal).
Previous review:
Booked a table for 2, arrived only to be told kitchen was out of order which was fine as these things do happen, however, we received no notification that this was the case, otherwise, we wouldn't have made the journey. Interacted with 2 staff throughout, one was friendly and nice, one staff was a bit off with his customer-facing skills towards us. The decor is nice and I can only imagine the ambience when watching live sports on tele. I may visit again to give the place another chance to redeem itself and will definitely home in on customer-facing skills. I believe in second chances. In the meantime, 3 stars is fair.
