About This Pub

Oh, I've got to say, the Gospel Oak in Tipton is one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem – you know, the kind where you can settle in for a pint of Carling or Peroni and watch the big game on their enormous screen, with that stadium-like sound that really gets you in the thick of it. The food's a standout, too; think juicy burgers cooked to perfection or a rich, creamy mac and cheese that's spot on for those mid-game munchies, and don't even get me started on their Sunday roasts – they're just the thing for a relaxed weekend. The staff are brilliant, always polite and chatty, making you feel right at home, and they've done a smart job with the recent makeover, giving the place a fresh, inviting look that's perfect for catching up with friends. On the flip side, it's a tad disappointing that the ladies' toilets didn't get the same attention, as that could do with a bit of sprucing up to match the rest. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone after a good night out with live music, quizzes, and that community spirit, but it's worth keeping in mind that small detail if you're planning a visit. I'd pop in again in a heartbeat for the vibes and the grub!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food here is an absolute treat – from perfectly cooked burgers and creamy mac and cheese to hearty Sunday roasts, it's all about those proper pub classics that leave you wanting more.
  • The staff are a real delight, full of energy and politeness, making every visit feel warm and personal, like chatting with old mates behind the bar.
  • It's a fantastic spot for catching live sports, with massive screens and that immersive atmosphere that gets everyone buzzing, whether it's football, rugby, or something else on the telly.
  • They've given the place a lovely fresh makeover, creating a welcoming vibe that's perfect for enjoying a pint and some good company.
  • There's always something on, like weekly live music, quizzes, and events, which keeps things lively and gives you plenty of reasons to pop in regularly.
Cons
  • The ladies' toilets haven't quite kept up with the rest of the refurb, which is a bit of a shame and might put some off after enjoying the rest of the pub.

What an improvement. Much needed make over, pity the ladies toilets weren't afforded the same makeover. That's the only negative. The staff were extremely helpful and polite. The food is also vastly improved not only in quality (we had steak) but also the presentation, shout out to kitchen staff

I visited Gospel Oak recently with my mom and brother, and we had a lovely time. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff made us feel comfortable as soon as we arrived. Amazing makeover! I had the mac and cheese, which was absolutely delicious — rich, creamy, and full of flavour. My mom and brother both went for the cowboy burger, and they really enjoyed it. The portions were generous, and everything came out fresh and well-presented. The pub itself is clean, cosy, and has a relaxed feel that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy your time. Even though I didn’t catch our server’s name, I want to give her a special mention — she provided excellent customer service and made the experience even better. All in all, it was a great visit, and we’d definitely come back again. Thank you to everyone at Gospel Oak for the fantastic food and friendly service!
